Default Here we go again! (Linux)

So I convinced my boss to showcase a computer to the Office of Information Technology at the University of Minnesota using Linux. We decided to use gOS, which is based off of Ubuntu and same one that Walmart will be preinstalling on computers.

I'll let you all know how it goes.

I'd be really interested in knowing how this turns out. I'm in the process of building a small, ultra-mobile desktop client and am trying to find a good OS. I've got a copy of TinyXP ready to go, but the idea of using Linux is always a great option.

Xubuntu is great for lightweight installs.

And you always have DSL..

I'd like to know what the showcase is invovled in, is it to show off for new kids, or just to have there so people can use it.

Our head of IT is a huge linux supporter, Running the whole IT lab (the guys who run the school) and most of the servers on either linux or BSD.

Thats is whats kewl.

It's going to be a computer that will help average users *demystify* Linux. Basically show them what it can do and how much it can help save.
