Well, this is more of a hdd tweak but it only works with windows xp. I found out a way were you can do this pagling file which will you hard drive space for ram (you can choose how much), if anyone is interesting i''ll show you how i did it.

Its just the page file Windows uses. Right click my computer> properties > advanced > settings under performance > and then the advanced tab on the window that opens up. Click change at the bottom of the advanced tab, and there you cna set the size of your page files. DONT go under 1.5 times the amount of system RAM. Windows will just keep giving you errors saying the page file isnt large enough.

Heres a good tutorial on what the pagefile and virtual memory do for you. Find ithere.

Next time, just tell us. Dont spam the forums with useless crap. Spend the time and just give it to us. People on dialup waste time to load up a page that doesnt even give a good description and then says "If you wanna know how, tell me and Ill tell you." Use the head bud.

I just want to warn ppl here about this method, there is a split-second interval where Windows does something on this page file, it is a routine command of some kind, i think it's called caching the page file, i cant exactly remember what it is, but if you shut your PC down during this interval or disconnect the HDD it will mess up the IDE channel the HDD is on as well fry your HDD. Rarely ever does this happen but it happened to a buddy of mine who did the same thing.

Well, now I don't know that I agree with this sentiment. There are always gonna be those times when someone does think of a new way of approaching some issue which truely benefits the community at large. I have not problem with someone posting about something which has been present in Windows for decades, just when it's presented without the party in question doing any research to see if such a post is justified and with such secrecy and undo fanfare.

That said I will let this subject go.

PLZ lay off Knee-il he was just pointing out something useful if you got a problem with it cause you already know about it just don't say anything. Nice post Knee-il i am sure it will help someone.
