Default Customization Programs at Startup

This may be something easy, but I've looked and Googled, and still am not quite sure how to do this... Hopefully someone here can helpme figure it out.

I downloaded two neat little apps from Andreas Verhoeven's site, namely 3D User Pic and Glass Toast. They both require you to start the app, then click on one of the buttons to activate the tweak.

This is what they look like (or what they cause Vista to do)

3D User Pic makes it so that your user picture (or any icon that you hover the mouse over) becomes a sort of 3D image, rotating back and forth. Neat little effect, though it has no other real useful application.

Glass Toast changes the pop-up baloons on the task bar to a more Vista-AeroGlass-like appearance.

I want to be able to set both programs to execute their individual tweak automatically upon startup. I tried adding them to the Startup folder, but that was a no-go, didn't work. I looked at msconfig, but didn't find an option to add a program to the startup programs list.

Anyone have a quick and easy (or relatively so) way to do this?

Default Re: Customization Programs at Startup

Glasstoast has a txt file in the .zip that I downloaded that included this tidbit:

Quote:
The application knows a couple of commandline switches:
"-auto" will start the glass toasts directly without showing a dialog.
"-show" will show the dialog of a previously started GlassToast.exe
"-stop" will stop a previously started GlassToast.exe procedure. The application remains active
"-kill" will stop all previously started GlassToast.exe and unload them from memory.

If you put the shortcut to the .exe in your startup folder and then go into the properties of the shortcut adding the -auto, that should fix it.

For the second program, there's no such switch, so I don't know of an EASY way to do it . . .
but if you look up AutoIt and don't mind doing a little work, it's a scripting language that you can automate Windows XP and Vista, 32 bit and 64 bit versions. It should be cake to use it to make a simple auto execute .exe you can stick into your startup menu.
