| I have one you can add.. It will allow you to take off the Manufacturer Branding in your computer properties... 1) Create a new Bitmap Image file that is 128 x 128 pixels. 2) Save the file with a name you will remember i.e. OEM.bmp. 3) Copy your new Bitmap to "C:\Windows\System32\oobe" 4) Open Regedit.exe and go to **To get to Regedit open my computer blank out the top address bar and type regedit.exe** [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\OEMInformation] Change (or) Add this line: "Logo"="c:\\windows\\system32\\oobe\\OEM.bmp" Change (or) Add this line: "Manufacturer"="OEM Name" 5) Substitute "OEM Name" with what ever you would like the Manufacturer line to read. 6) Right-Click over "Computer" and select properties to see your work. ![]() Last edited by Twizted; 29-July-07 at 04:10 PM. | ||

| Here's a couple of different ways to improve your memory usage in Vista... Open regedit (at your own risk) and go to the following key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\SessionManager\Memory Management] Find ClearPageFileAtShutdown and set the value to "0" (zero). Find DisablePagingExecutive and LargeSystemCache and set their values to "0" (zero) also. Second way to improve your memory performance in Vista is to go to services (click the start button, then type in "services" and it'll find it for you...one of the nice features about Vista). Scroll through the list until you find "SuperFetch". Double click to open the properties window. Click on "Stop", then set it to disable. Do the same thing with ReadyBoost and Windows Search. Some people say that disabling ReadyBoost will increase your boot time, but I haven't noticed a difference yet. Also, if you've got less than 2GB of memory, I wouldn't recommend disabling the SuperFetch. Oh, and a third way is to disable your Windows Sidebar, but that's a personal choice. Hope this helps, Rob | ||
