Default A Vista Heads Up

I dont know if this was the case with previous Windows but its a huge pain in the neck from me.

So I've set up my 300GB HDD to have several partitions incase things go crazy. Needless to say I have a 15GB partition for my Vista Install. Sounds great huh? Well all my small programs and OS take up about 9GB of space... Which with the way things formats, leaves me with less than 4.7GB of space.

Now when I want to burn a DVD, what happens? I get an error, not enough free space. I have plenty of free space on other drives can I set the temp directory to another drive?

Are you saving your dvd files to the other partition? Or the Small Partitions? I know that sounds like a duh moment, but it was worth asking.

Is your OS partition formatted with NTFS or FAT32?

I was just trying to use Windows Media Player to burn it along with the Built in DVD burner in Windows. I tried to install Nero, it said not for Vista and stopped.

My partition is NTFS.

im using Nero 7 ..and it works fine .... nero 6 and below dont work on vista ....
i havent tried burning with windows or with media player so cant help with that .... but i guess u must have at least the size of a dvd to burn one even if its on another partition .... Bloody Microsoft :p

Not and ideal solution but just wack the the size of your partition up by 2GB in the drive management console and it should be fine.

The Answer is Yes

The Temp directory should always be pointed to a Larger Drive
