| Apex Techie Wannabe | So JB and I got GH3 for the wii this weekend. I was wondering if anyone else got it...whichever system you have it on...and what you think about it. Any likes or dislikes? You can definitely tell its made by someone else...theres a ton of advertising in it lol. I love most of the songs on it and was very surprised (happily) at some of the newer songs you can purchase along the way. Its kind of cool that is has more of a story to it and that you can do battles with lots of different features/attacks. The guitar itself seems a lot more thought out and less toyish as well. All in all I think they did a good job with it and I really hope they come out with online capabilities for the wii. :geek: | |

| I have it for the 360. I really like the guitar, though...after using the explorer guitar for almost a year now, it's kind of hard to get used to the Gibson. Only because my arm doesn't rest into a 'knook' anymore. My favorite song on it so far is Weezer's "My Name is Jonas" It's so much fun to play on hard ![]() | ||

| I will start out by saying that this is definitely a good game, but I may wander to a bit of a fiddles rant =P The things I like about it is variety of the songs, there is a very good mixture of new songs and classic songs, which makes me very happy! The Hammer-on indicators are a great addition to the game and make playing those hard solos a little easier. The Battles are just insanely fun, though the Tom Morello battle is a little wierd and the addition of the Co-op Career is a great idea Now with all the good outta the way, one thing that kinda gets to me is it seems Neversoft regressed the graphics engine, this may have something to do with the fact there are over 70 songs in this game, but the engine doesn't look the same and it frustrates me. All the guitarists actually looked like they were strumming and actually playing chords and leads in the GH2 yet in GH3 they look like they are doing this broken wrist finger picking while just moving their hands up and down the fretboard.. Don't even get me started on the wonderfully robotic drummer. Granted I admit these are all trivial issues and all that really matters is how the songs are played, but for some reason I just got a kick outta watching Axel Steel rip the crap outta the fretboard while playing the outro to The Beast and the Harlot. Again I reaaaaaaaaaaaaalllly do like this game, I just felt alittle let down with a new game that looks like it could have been released on the N64. ( no insult to the N64 by any means btw) | ||

| I understand that.. it really has no bearing on how I feel about the game.. I just wish It could have stayed the same.
Yea that was a bit much, but as Wikid Lia said, we bought the Wii version and that screen is from the 360 version ok to take my head of the chopping block Here's what I mean, watch these two videos: YouTube - Guitar Hero 3-Rock You Like A Hurricane (Wii) <- Wii Version YouTube - Guitar Hero 3 Footage - Slow Ride <- 360 Version Yes I know I'm comparing a console that is completely over powered by the 360 but even the PS2 version of Guitar hero 2 looks so much better YouTube - Guitar Hero 2: Carry on Wayward Son (Expert) <-Ps2 version These videos kinda suck, but it gives you a bit of an idea. All I can really say, is the Wii is capable of handling more then what Neversoft threw at it. but Regardless, Yunk is right, its really about the gameplay, not the background graphics. Also Yunk, while again you're right its absolutely impossible for them to make it look like they pick every fret, if you watch make it out in the GH2 video, they actually made an attempt at making it look like they were playing properly | |||||||||||||||||||||

| Apex Techie Wannabe | yea the 360 version does look a hell of a lot better than the wii version....by A LOT haha and they could have made it look a little better on the wii than what it is...but I agree that the focus of the game is on playing the songs and that is definitely still awesome. | |

| The best thing about the 360 versions of GH3 is that you can use the guitars on the PC...and there is a 'free' game that has an amazing amount of songs for you to play... | ||
