| Please excuse my nerdiness but after watching the Nintendo Press conference (and the terrible Sony one), I started to tear up a little. While it's been hard to say they've been the best company out there, there's no denying that Nintendo's really the only one in the console war with a little heart. From the looks of the Wii (and other things!) Nintendo's really gotten their act together. I can't remember looking at a next-gen system and thinking "that looks like fun as much as I did watching Nintendo's. Here's a replay http://www.gamespot.com/e3/e3live.html My thoughts: Graphics may be a bit of a letdown, but oh my god the games. If I'm having that much fun watching Miyamoto and pals play that tennis game, imagine it in my hands. All of Nintendo's franchises look to be in top form and adapting well to the control scheme. And the "speaker in the controller" idea is brilliant. For those not watching the video, they explained that in Zelda, for instance, when you shoot a bow, you'll hear the thwip in your controller and the sound of it hitting will play in the screen. That's crazy! And it's also worth mentioning after all the prerendered videos Sony showed us, Nintendo has 27 playable games on the floor of E3. Also worth checking out are new games for existing systems. Starfox DS, Yoshi's Island 2, Super Paper Mario and many others look fantastic. Hats off to Nintendo, they might be around much longer than we expected | ||

I like the 360 and I will buy the PS3 despite the crazy ass cost. But the one thing I am excited about is the cost of the Wii. I will for sure buy it right away just because the cost is affordable to the ordinary person. This is were Sony and M$crosoft will hurt during the upcoming console wars.

| Yeah, they got better graphics, but not everyone can afford to rush right out to buy the hardware needed to see it in action...especially after plunking down a good five big bills just to get the system and a couple of games. I've been excited about the Revolution...er, Wii, for some time now. I'll get to play video games AND get some exercise in. | ||

Last I heard there was an "Official" price of $199? I will have to find some proof to back it up. But your price range includes it so I suppose thats good enough...lol.

| Yeah, i read that the 'official' price was 199 as well. But then it was removed. So, 199 is either A) False or B) Wasn't supposed to be released yet ![]() Truth be told...I wasn't too overly impressed with the Wii. The games that showcased it (besides Zelda) seemed really hokey and gimmicky and wern't 'fine tuned.' I still think Red Steel was utter crap. It looks like its a 'free roaming' rail shooter ala Time Crisis from the arcades. | ||

Yeah I have been reading your post lately on you not being impressed in this. Interesting...lol. I guess I am like you and will have to try it out before I buy it. I hope I get the chance to play it at like a WalMart or something before they release them and there is a mad rush to buy them. I am still reading that it will be NO later then Thanksgiving of 06....any other rumours on this?

| Yeah, phlak....i'm trying NOT to sound like a nintendo doomer...., but the idea is so crazy it's going to be amazing, or its going to be amazingly bad. We'll see. Like i've said before. I need to try it out for myself, lol. But, if its between 150-200 I think I may give it a shot...as long as the future wife approves. But, I'll just tell her it will play the newest mario party games and she'll go 'ga-ga' over it ![]() | ||

| OK, So everyone has made good observations on the WII such as price (yes, at this price you can bet im buying it) upcoming games (mario galaxy - superv) but how come nobody has mentioned or brought up the OLD SCHOOL GAME compatibility .... mega-man, zelda, contra, mario RPG , mortal kombat, donkey kong, kirby, f-zero, castlevania ..... come on .... :dopey: even if newely developed games arent that great, this system is well worth its price just for having the "classics" available :twocents: | ||
