* FolkLore
* Mobile Suit Gundam: Crossfire
* Ninja Gaiden Sigma
* Resistance: Fall of Man
* Ridge Racer 7
Please note that these are the North American titles -- the box art shown to the right includes the Japanese titles for the games, and differs slightly.
The listed price of 3,619 yen translates roughly to $35 USD. While no official announcement has been made that the Greatest Hits series will be offered in North America or Europe, it would seem logical that the PS3's region-free capabilities would mean that the delay to launch in other areas should be minimal, if any.
While Sony managed to cut the manufacturing cost of the PS3 to about $400, this figure does not take into account the packaging, testing, shipping, or marketing costs -- Sony is still losing money on each console sold.
A lineup of inexpensive games to help boost the poor game attachment ratio and appeal to those who bought the PS3 solely as a Blu-Ray player would no doubt help some of the 4.9 million PS3s sold in 2007 contribute to Sony Computer Entertainment turn an even bigger profit.
