PC: 2GB of RAM: Do We Really Need That Much?

X-Bitlabs has a good article up concerning gamers, and whether or not we need 2GB of RAM for games.

Interesting artcle........I noticed when playing FEAR that a definite increase would improve performance.

I agree on that one Highperf. I know playing Q4 with all the eye candy is made better when I added the second gig.

Noe sure if it is a matter of the games keeping up with the PC advances or if the PCs are trying to keep up with all the graphic changes. Hmmm...interesting question...*goes to make a new poll* :Suave:

I've wanted to upgrade to 2G of RAM for about 3+ months, the only thing that' s kept me from doing so is finances...or lack thereof

I hear that! It's probably a good thing I don't own much of value, or I'd be selling it off for a new 2GB kit...

Hmm... at what point does this qualify as an addiction?

Is 2GB needed? Not in many games, does it help a lot? Yes. Anyone that's played BF2 can attest to that!
