Default Chinese 'farms' amass avatars and virtual gold for gaming sale

A feature today in the New York Times takes a deeper look into the business of Chinese gold farming.

Hmmm the idea of trying to sell my CoH account is seeming more feasible by the moment (runs of to check the CoH EULA).

Thats what pisses me the most out of these things... the "workers" get paid crap (although, in China, $250.00 could be quite a lot...i'm not sure) yet the owners of these Gold Farming firms live in the lap of luxury...

I agree, although the person who was interviewed seemed to be ok with the wages ( i am totally ignorant of the Chinese monetary system and the wages to lifestyle ratio).

THREADJACK!!
Darn it (another reason that i dislike CoH): You may not sell or auction any City of Heroes accounts, characters, items, coin or copyrighted material.

Whereas with WoW : B. You may permanently transfer ownership of the Game and all parts thereof...

(i'm just steamed because i made the poor choice of pre-paying a year in advance...it was a bad call on my part.)

And exactly how is this any different than the U.S.?
Sure, our wages are higher than $250 per month; but the ratio of most workers' to most CEOs' wages are likely near the same.
Think Enron, Arthur Anderson, etc.
