Question Name Brands

When buying peripheral items for your PC, things like keyboards, mice, speakers, etc. do you stick to name brands? Or if you have read a good review of a new or off brand item, give it a try?

I generally prefer Logitech input devices, but overall the most important facet to me is how the company treats its customers.

It depends on what the peripheral is: namely, how much it costs. I'm far less inclined to take a chance with an unknown brand if it's priced over $40-$50. Once the price gets to that point, i'm more inclined to stick with name brands (reviews always apply ).

Depends -- I'll go w/a no-name/lesser known name device if reviews and word of mouth support it. I'm one who will wait until the device of choice has been available for a couple of months at the computer shops I frequent, then I'll go in and ask them point blank about returns, problems, etc.... My guys will actually do a search store chain wide to see how a product has done/is doing, and give me the honest scoop. So research, research, research is the three points I do before plunking down the first dollar.

If I see a bunch of good reviews for something that I want/need, I'll give it a whirl. I don't have any qualms against trying a new company, but if they treat the customer poorly, the company will have a hard time keeping my business. By hard, read impossible.

I never go with items whose brand I haven't heard of. Not even if I read a great review about 'em. I always have bad luck with them. Foe there really isn't a choice in the poll for a "No, never go with 'em" type of answer.

Actually, the first answer would be just that. It just does not say no.
