Lights On or Lights Off?

How do you prefer to game? With all the lights on, and the curtains open? Or with all the lights off, and the curtains closed? Are you afraid of the dark?

Content doesn't govern my light preference. Content/schmontent, it depends on the game, but generally I prefer minimal light. (Not complete darkness because I want to be able to see after 50

)

I usually game with the lights mostly off.

I used to play with the lights all the way off but...needless to say...

Doom III
Unreal
Doom
Doom II
Condemned - XBOX360 demo

Have made me game with minimal lights on...

But, I mostly game with just a light on off in the corner of my room so I don't have any glare on the screen. And, I like it... future mrs. stud doesn't though...we'll have to work on that

And by 'we will have to' I mean "I will have to" lol.

Lights On. Not a glaring overhead, but a smaller lamp (20 watt bulb) in the corner of the room. If i play with the lights off completely, it has a tendency to give me a headache.

Lights off except when playing doom or fear with headphones. :-)

Lights on. Always. When you game with the lights off, your pupils expand to adjust for the limited light, but then you stare at a glaring light source (your monitor). I value my eyesight and thats my logic.

My room is painted dark blue and I have blinds and thick drapes. Unless I have the window open or, you know, want to experience sunlight, I have the drapes and blinds closed. Lights off, and I have essential night-time darkness at noon.

Lights off all the way, you can't beat playing F.E.A.R in the middle of the night with the surround sound in the pitch black.
