Default Cascade waterblock opinions

Upon going to Procooling due to that fiasco a few days ago over the direct-die cooling I also checked on the progress of this block, from the creator of the White Water, and found it has actually been done for a couple weeks now!

Anyway, after reading through the entire 14-page thread, here are my conclusions:

Pros:
-Performs 2 C better than the White Water (making it the best waterblock available ATM)
-Only has a single outlet barb
-Would function much better with a pelt than the WW
-Works well enough for low flowrates (small tubing and/or a low output pump) to outperform any other tested block.

Cons:
-Costs a whopping 85$ US (meaning $10 per degree decrease from the WW)
-Looks kinda lop-sided due to the third barb being removed....but thats just personal opinion.

My personal opinion is that at an increase of $20 from an already high $65 for the WW, 2 degrees C is only worth it for the avid watercooling enthusiast. Performance is pricey I guess! Reading this just makes me yearn even more for a commercially available direct-die waterblock like Zennzzo's. Waterblock design, it seems has reached a plateau and the next step can only be taking all the metal and TIM out of the picture and go straight to the core itself. If my suspicions are correct direct-die cooling will very soon blow the entire waterblock-design on its ass (assuming ease of installation and safety of the system) by offereing superior cooling at a lower cost. Keep it up Zennzzo....your a pioneer man.

I would just like to hear everyone else's opinions about this subject.

P.S. I remember you said you were on the waiting list for one of these AntiM. If I'm not mistaken, please fill us in on how you like it (assuming it has arrived).

Still waiting.

And like the WW, it still wouldn't be a good design for a TEC.

Check the fourth post down:

I agree it still wouldn't be the best one to use since most of the water turbulence and cooling is concentrated in a small area as opposed to the entire block, but hey it's always good to know you "could" and achieve relatively sound cooling. Most people who buy a waterblock that high-priced probably won't be looking towards upgrading to TEC cooling anyway, otherwise a Maze4 would probably work much better right off the bat.

Wow, how long have you been waiting now? Hope its worth it.
