| i found 2 of the same pelts on ebay, for dirt cheap. so my idea. make a heatsink/radiator thing out of copper and put the pelts on either side. so you have a very cold radiator/heatsink thing. then put a big fan with a duct going to the cpu wich already has a sk-7 on it. the pelts are 85 watt. sorry for the pic i hate doodling in ps but my paint is broken. | ||

| Apex Techie II | Well first off, pelters dont work that way. Pelters dont produce cold, they just transfer heat (energy) from one side of it, to the other. So if the other side of the pelter isnt cooled off, it will burn up almost instantly. Second of all, if the radiator gets that cold, you will have alot of condensation to worry about. You would be better off just makeing a small A/C system, which would be quite crazy, but i have seen it one time in a picture (it probably weighed close to 90lbs). You have a good imagination though. With just a little bit more knowledge you might become very rich. ![]() | |

| but say if i did cool off the pelts on either side would it work? and i would just keep the thing running 24/7 so nothing would heat back up and make condensation. so i could turn the computer off but this would be running off of another power supply and it would stay frozen. and one more thing do pelts ever go bad so if i left it on all the time would it fail on me? ya, if i had that kind of money i would just get watercooling, thats why im here thinking of bullsh1t like this. | ||

| Direct Cool Hoe | There is good information all through the forums on cooling. air cooling, water ,TEC/pelts, as well as cryo-cooling. Do some reaserch and soak up as much info as you can. You have proven that you are a thinker, that is good, now get your basic knowledge of how and why cooling works and I'm sure you will come up with twist of your very own, that's cool. ![]() | |

| Wouldn't this be kind of bulky? SLK+copper contraption+fan+duct? You must have a monster case dude. I wonder, though, if instead of blowing cold air like this onto the heatsink if you could just make two copper plates and bolt them onto the side fins of the SLK with the peltiers on the other side? But then there's still the problem of cooling them....and that i have no idea what i'm talking about. Hope all goes well, but i can't imagine anyting like this beating a good peltier directly on the CPU with the slk cooling it. P.S. --Love the fan drawing. | ||

| i call one!!! do you take paypal?, the biggest one you got edit: and they have front bezels and back wall things right? edit edit: and what do you guys think of these pelts, i know they are only 85 watt but they give you 3 of them so thats like 255w. and they still get cold and this is only really going to be an experiment so i want the cheapest stuff to not kill to much money. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...&category=4660 and i also found a case i might want to use its at directron. http://www.directron.com/hydraulic.html Last edited by Dimazz; 05-August-03 at 10:30 PM.. | ||
