ok, first off im gunna go with this wc'ing setup

1)ProCore comes with 1/2"OD chrome barbed fittings Does this include the 120mm fan??
2)ThisDangerDen Maze4 block Its says AMD CPU waterblock, this will fit my AMD 1900+ right?
3)This Hydor L30 I kno it may be alot for just a CPU cooled system, but i will probably cool my graphics card later on.
4)This Dtek Bay resovoir Does this come with the fittings?

Keep checking back, give our two water experts a chance to review your questions. Either Putwig or AntiM will eventually respond.

1. excellent rad, fan not included

2. the block will work fine with your proc, as long as your mobo has the four mounting holes.

3. the L30 is a bit hearty for a CPU only rig. Hoowever, if you are running 1/2" tubes, and plan to add other blocks.......I would probably stick with it.

4. the res includes harware, be sure to specify 1/2", as I am sure there is a 3/8" option

Agreed.

You might want to avoid water wetter with that pump, Stick to glycol additives to lessen any bubble problems you might have with a high output pump. A bit of filter material in the res will also help keep bubbles to a minimum and cooling efficient.

AMD. Does your mobo have a heatsink or fan on the CPU? If so it will have the retention plate to keep the fan or heatsink on the CPU you just pop out the butterfly screws that are on the bottom of the mobo and the retention plate pops right off. If you do not have the heatsinf or fan combo. You can see 4 little holes on the 4 corners of your CPU about an inch away.

Well even if i am not the resident water-cooling expert I will take the time to chime in here. Having built more then a dozen water-cooled rigs, utilizing many different parts and configurations I can share what has and hasn't worked for me. The Radiator that you chose is a great choice. This would make a great start for a case but do take into consideration the space that’s required for that radiator. 6”x 7” In most midtower cases even the Black Ice Extreme at 6” x 5” is hard to fit. So make sure you are not trying to fit this radiator into a case that has a smaller width or footprint. Most cases that require you to fit in the top or back are not going to give that kind of space. Speaking of radiator placement. You get allot of people who tell you not to mount your Radiator in top due too the air in the system traveling into the cooling apparatus and preventing 100% cooling efficiency. This has merit and not. If you run a sealed system or a larger style reservoir. And remember to give the system time to run properly in different angels prior to installing the CPU component then you will effectively remove all the air from the system. So it’s a matter of choice. I choose on most midtower installs to run my radiator in top of the case pulling fresh air down into the pc. Placement of fans is not as crucial on the radiator as long as you remember to pull air through the radiator and not push air through it.

Okay next on the block. The Danger Den maze 4 is nice. The blocks are great for cooling and I use the Maze 3 Blocks myself. Danger Den is one of the top when choosing your CPU block. Just keep with the ½” variant. I also like the D-Tek whitewater blocks. They are probably the most costly but some of the best coolers as well. Also consider the Swiftech Block in ½” variant. Any of these are great blocks that are able to not only handle low idle temps but withstand some serious load temps. Most Water-Cooled kits fail to perform in the load tests at the same rate as these few blocks I spoke off. However there are a few surprises out there and I am sure someone has a diff recommendation.

As for your choice on pump. BRAVO! That is the pump of choice. 320 GPH is no small feat. If you plan to add the extra blocks later you will enjoy having this kind of flow. This Pump can do more then the Ehiem 1250 and that’s a large ass pump. The L30 fits easily into most any case. It has a small foot print. Is relatively quiet and the stock fittings are ½” so no need for any modifications. No change in recommendation from me their.

Now on to the final piece of your gear. The D-Tek reservoir is a fine choice however the new one that is offered at www.voyeurmods.com (TYPHOON LINK HERE) it has 2 inlets and outlets. It allows you to use it standard for now. But however you can hook it up in multiple feed modes to allow for more extreme cooling. This reservoir is built sturdier and also has a much better fill plug thatÂ’s larger then the DTEK version. You will appreciate that when it comes time to fill it. These minor little things go a long way when its months into water cooling your system.

The parts you have selected are a very good start. You have definitely done some research. As you didnÂ’t say you were going to get the AHANIX Iceberg for 99 bucks or some budget blocks we have never heard of. IM sure the Resident Pimps will chime in soon but something tells me they may not say much diff then I just told ya. Remember fill and test before you mount everything. And with them plastic fitting donÂ’t over tighten it. As for Water Ingredients. You get allot of schools of thought there. I am a big fan of Reverse Osmosis water or Distilled water. I usually put a little ethylene glycol, some water wetter and dye. However just water and dye is fine as long as itÂ’s distilled or RO water. DO NOT USE TAP WATER. Also note with that Danger Den Block if you use blue dye you can use bleach water to get the tubes clean and catsup to clean the block. Seems dumb I know but soak it in catsup and wipe it off clean and shiny as new. Any more questions just shout at me!!!
ThatÂ’s my two cents anyway

wow thanks alot that was great. i kno the dtek radiator is big but i found a good place to mount it. i had to take out my hdd and 3.5 bay mount, heres a pic. oh and i dont have a front intake so im gunna position the 120mm fan on the radiator toward the inside of the case because with the way the fittings are its easier that way anyway.

heres a picture off the abit website, the four purple holes next to the proc are the right holes right?

does anyone have experience from www.cooltechnica.com? because im ordering everything but radiator from them. alright here is EVERYTHING i am getting, if something that is neccesary is not included here please tell me!!

-DD Maze4 AMD CPU Waterblock (1/2)
-Dtek ProCore + Fan Shroud Combo (1/2)
-Bay-Res Reservoir (1/2)
-Hydor L30 (1/2)
-15ft ClearFlex 60 Premium Tubing
-10 Adjustable Double Snap-Grip Plastic Hose Clamps for 1/2 ID and 3/4 OD
-Arctic Silver III Thermal Compound

Besides some wire strategy for air flow managment ,looks like all you need is
distilled or R/O h20
waterwetter or equivelent
and some cool-ass dye

Just my humble oppinion you can get all that stuff from www.voyeurmods.com except the rad. you could however go with the Black Ice Extreme which I feel would be pretty close in spec to the DTEK. P.S. Get the TYGON tubing. bends much easier and stays clear longer

COuldn't you just use food colouring to dye the water?

Not a good idea, save the food coloring for cupcakes, cupcake.
I'm not too sure what food coloring color, is UV reactive at any rate...Comercially available water dyes are safe on the pump, and at this point proven.

i am definetly getting the dtek radiator cuz its not that expensive and it comes with a shroud. Dtekcustoms.com is the only place that has them instock but they dont have the L30 or i would order everything from them. im just gunna get the kit from dangerden cuz that seems simplest. and last question, if im only cooling the processor how many feet of tubing will i need?

AMD I have just set up a new system from DTEK and i ordered 10 feet of Clearflex Hose and i have hose sticking out the back of my computer and i cut off about a foot nd a half so that should be plenty for just a cpu cooling. Remember this is what everyone told me its better to have more hose than not enough, because you can shorten but you cannot add any. 10 feet is plenty.
