| "A curious test was to make the computer water at full load without water pumping. Temperature started rising: CPU till 62 ºC, water till 52 ºC, then it stabilized 1 ºC less (CPU at 61 ºC and water at 51 ºC), I kept it this way 15 min. and temperature didn't change. When I reconnected the pump temperatures went down abruptly to 55 ºC in the CPU." When my pump stopped working(cuz of a power outage... computer hooked to ups, pump not ) it fried my cpu, melted the tubes coming out of the water block and spilt water and water wetter all over my vid card... | ||

| Apex Techie Wannabe | Yes I'm Spanish, from Barcelona (1€ ~ $ 1,15 ). My waterblocks are air coolers adapted (covered) to be used with water, so they are very big compared to a true waterblock. I knew temperatures were going to rise slowly and I thought it was worth doing the experiment. The curious thing was that the temperature stopped rising, I imagine it must have been because there started to be natural convection of the water inside the waterblock (the inlet goes upwards) enought to pull out the heat it was being generated. | |
