Lightbulb radiator block

so i was thinking.....( i thought i smelled somethimg burning ) what if you took a copper heat sink and installed some copper tubing like the cooler master hs but more of it and attached it to a water block with a fan on it and then connected it to a smaller pump for a more compact water cooling setup. do any of you cooling pros have any comments.
i was thinking of trying to come up with a more compact way to assemble a water rig. i think tht if you could do this you might be able to cut down on all the clutter of tubes in a system...

First, If you ask, I think most of the guys will say that all you really need to water cool is the CPU and maybe the GPU. North Bridge, HD, RAM, etc... can all be cooled but there isn't much point in it unless your going for a completely fan-less system.

Second, because a water cooling system is itself cooled by ambient air, you still will only get to within a few degrees C of ambient. All the systems I have seen weight in in the same range of say 36 - 46C in 28C ambient rooms. This isn't exact, just a ballpark figure. The point is that they all perform very similarly. Exceptions are systems with a very high thermal load, multi-processors, Peltiers, every kind of water block you can find, etc.

Third, So the average system can be handled by water cooling systems that are 1/4" just as well as 1/2". The Koolance is proof. It isn't that a Koolance can handle the same thermal load that a 1/2" Danger Den setup can, it's that the thermal load of your average XP with a reasonable OC and a GF3 or GF4 GPU don't produce enough heat to overwhelm a decent 1/4" system.

So it comes down to what you need, and where you think you might be going. I have a very neet little all copper 1/4" radiator that I want to try out with an Ehiem 1046 and my Innovatek CPU and GPU blocks. All I need is some 6mm hose barbs with European threads for my blocks and pump.

Hope this helps some.

I think he is headed in this direction but want's to retain the HSF capability too.

Hmmm. Let's see, here is something else that's similar in concept
An we all like pictures;

But I have a problem with this design.

If the radiator is mounted outside and cooled with the freshest coolest air and the inside case air is 6C higher then your blowing warmer air onto your water block maybe. At a minimum your are taking heat that could be transfered to your radiator and exhausted from your system and instead your blowing it into your case. That is just my thoughts.

Flip the fan over.

BTW lc, Paul got hold of me earlier. Damn Sweet waterblocks, but outside my price range. Thinking of offloading some of my old stuff on ebay to get one though.

I had the same thought,

How much do you think I could get for my wife?

I already tried that. Ebay will only let you relist an auction once before they start charging you. $500 later I gave up.
