Default water chiller flow?

Can someone share with me what the optimum flow path would be for a water chiller setup? I'd think it would be:

Pump, radiator, chiller, waterblock, resevoir as you want the coolest water hitting the cpu, right?

Thanks,

Rob

I would probably go:

pump - chiller - water block - rad - res

That way, you get the coolest water on the proc, as you mentioned. However, you then get the heat right out of the system.

With the order you posted, the water, once heated by the proc, sits in the res before being cooled by the rad.

That said, within a 1/2 hour of starting, your system will reach a steady state, and it won't amount to a hill of beans.

In short, my way would be ideal (IMHO), but don't sweat it if it is difficult to plumb that way.

To Clarify, the pelt is actually over the cold plate right?

water block
hot side of pelt
cold side of pelt
cold plate
processor

Your way is fine.

The rad could also go after the water block, so that heat is immediately expelled from the system.

It really does not matter.

Putwig, thanks! That actually makes more sense. It'll probably look like a nest of snakes with 1/2 tubing but as long as it works.
Now all I need is my WW block.

Thanks,

Rob
