Talking My new VGA Waterblock

Well I saw that Swiftech just introduced their new VGA waterblock, the MCW60, and because I am an avid Swiftech user I picked one up last Friday. Well she arrived yesterday, so after work I installed her. I got the version that comes with Swiftechs BGA ram sinks so that I could keep my memory nice and cool.
Instillation was a breeze. The waterblock went on just fine with the provided mounting hardware. The only problem I ran into was the ram sinks. I had to trim one (as the instructions say you might) so that the inlet tube could fit on the block. Also the one of the ram sinks did not want to stick very well. So I removed the card from the slot and pushed it back on with a lot of pressure and she stuck fine.

Let me be the first to say (I have not seen much talk about this new block on PCApex yet) that this block is very much worth the 50USD price tag (I payed 65 for the one with the ram sinks). I have a BFG 7800GTX that was running at 475Mhz clock and 1.30Ghz memory. The BFG comes overclocked form the factory at 460Mhz and 1.30Ghz. My temps at idle with stock cooling were around 45-47 degrees c. After installing the card and ram sinks my idle temps dropped to 31-32 c!

So I began to overclock to see how high I could push her. I got the GPU running at 525Mhz rock solid and memory at 1.34Ghz. After running 3D Mark 05 to test her the temps on the card did not go above 36 c. I did not have time to test any higher, so I will try laters for a higher clock.

I will have pics soon (damn camera eats batteries fast).

(Thanks for reading my mini review )
