| hey guys, im revamping the tubing in my watercooling setup to a bit more of a larger setup with two radiators mounted in a box outside my computer and i have a couple questions. Currently my rig is running on MCT-5, a non-conductive fluid. I noticed that it smells and seems like anti-freeze, and to me, anti-freeze seems like its properties could actually be a good substance for WCing. Now, i only have enough mct-5 to run my current system, but i'm going to be adding another good 2-3 feet of tubing and im not going to have enough. sooooo 1. is anti-freesze non-conductive? 2. is it safe to mix it with the mct-5 or should i just use anti-freeze? 3. would i need to add algcide to the anti-freeze? how about if i mixed it with the mct-5? thnx | ||

| I don't know how glycol would mix with MCT-5, but I wouldn't experiment. My standard mix is 5-15% antifreeze plus distilled water and a capful of liquid algae killer per gallon. Antifreeze is slightly conductive when mixed in this proportion. My test results for a glycol mix are here. | ||
