dual raidiators will be in a custom box ontop of the case with mayb two fans cooling each of them. The pump(s) is still undecided, the res will occupie 3 bays.

The one great advantage of the Aqua Via is price. Other than that it's not a great pump, they run hot and don't hold up well over time. If you're looking for a good quality, yet inexpensive pump, find yourself a Danner Mag 2 or 3. And seal the impellor with a bit of silicon or plumbers goop.

Heres a link to the pumps AntiM is refering to.
Ive used the 3 and 5 series, and they work very well.
I think they are actually a little underrated, and are really powerfull and dependable for the price.

RIEZE offers some good advice. The 5 is going to create too much heat and any advantage from the added flow will be negated by the heat produced. The Danner's are underrated because they measure flow at 1' instead of 0'. A rating of 250 at 1 foot is equal to 275 at 0 feet. The Mag 2 and 3 have the best balance for water cooling.

The impellor is the part that spins and moves the water. On the Danners it's a good idea to seal the housing where it bolts together to prevent possible leaks. Other than that little drawback, it's the best budget pump for the money bar none.

Well I wanted to keep the pump mounted ontop in a custom watercooling box(containing dual raidiators, 4 120mm fans, water temp display, and a fan controler.) I think the heat produced from the 5 wouldnt afftect the performance as it will have alot of air passing threw it. Would it be better if i have a mag 3 or 5, they will be getting plenty of aireither way. Also the computer will be OCed so i want to make sure it will stay cool.

Consider this, after about 300 gallons per hour, the power required for every subsequent 100 gph roughly doubles. The Mag 5 requires a whopping 45 watts to operate, or nearly twice that of the Mag 2.

The most efficient pumps for water cooling have been and will probably remain between 150 and 300 gph. In this range you look for the best head (height it can pump) and the lowest power consumption.

The only way around the law of diminishing returns is money.

Pumps such as the DangerDen D-5, Eheim Plus in performance mode and AlphaCool pumps use a lot less electricity to run and acheve much greater head. Which is really more important than gph. AC pumps such as Iwaki have a very efficient internal cooling circuit and heat conductive housings. These kind of pumps also cost twice or three times as much as Danner pumps.
