| im about to buy a bigwater se with a vga water block and 3/8 tubes for my 3.0 p4 and 5900xt, which i plan to overclock. but my question is will the extra waterblock for the vga affect my cooling? or should i just stick with the watercooled cpu and conventinal cooled 5900xt? if so, can you recommend something? id like fanless alot more, also keep in mind that i want to overclock. thanks in advance | ||

| After having my rounds with a Bigwater system, I learned two things about that specific system. One, the kit is only really effective at reducing noise. If you plan on cooling your video card, AND overclocking your system, the Bigwater looses the ability to keep the components very cool. This is mostly due in part to the poor pump flowrate and relatively small radiator. And two, it would be cheaper and more effective to buy high performance air cooling. I recently converted back to air cooling after running a Bigwater for about 3 months. I installed an AeroCool HT-101 HighTower on my AMD64, dropping my core temps 14F from 100F to 86F. I also installed an ATI silencer 5 Rev.2 cooler on my x800xt and the chip temps dropped a good 15F to 82F. Of course, I popped in 3 more 80mm fans and a rheobus to control the speed/noise levels. | ||
