| Ok I am thinking about getting watercooling so I can get the most out of my system. Well the problem is is that I only have about $200 to spend. I was looking at DangerDen's Maze4 Power kit which is about $180. Here's a link http://www.dangerdenstore.com/produ...83&cat=2&page=1 Would that be a good setup? I was just add a gpu block and chipset block later. Or could you guys list some parts for a good watercooling setup. It dosent have to be a 3 block system. Or maybe should I just stay away from water cooling and get some good fans and whatnot. While im on the topic of overclocking though how would this memory handle overclocking? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...N82E16820231024 Last edited by The Amish Kid; 30-October-05 at 07:40 PM.. | ||

| That kit would probably work pretty good... it's got 1/2" hose and a single 120mm fan and rad. But that kit will only do you good if your only goal is to quiet down your PC. If you're planning on using water cooling for better OCing temps... yadda yadda yadda, then you'll at least want something with a bigger radiator. Do you plan on cooling only your CPU? Or are you planning on GPU cooling as well? All this would be something to consider when going to water cooling. A water setup will only be effiecient and work good for you based on what you want to do with it. I bought a ThermalTake Bigwater system for my rig. Many people say it sucks, but I only wanted to quiet down my PC... not overclock it to within an inch of it's life. If I had wanted to OC it, then I would not have bought the Tt Bigwater. That system will do fine for general use and stuff, but if you're looking at some big time OCing, then I would suggest something with a bigger rad. EDIT- Well I guess if I read the whole thing I could give you a better answer, lol. I would suggest a GPU block. My Bigwater system has got a GPU block on my X800XT and it manages to keep the card under 40C, even under load. I wouldn't suggest putting a block on your chipset unless you're gonna be doing some SERIOUS OCing. A chipset block on an non-overclocked system would be pointless and only increase your idle temps. If you're not going to be doing any serious OCing, then just get a good zalman heatsink, with or without a fan. Last edited by Jobistober; 30-October-05 at 08:28 PM.. | ||

since your new to water cooling you might want to look at non-conductive liquid so you dont fry your hardware if you have a misshap. linky. Look for ram with TCCD chips. it allows tighter timings using less voltage. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Apex Master Tech | get the special deal gives you top of the line TDX and DD-5 pump for 108.75 Black Ice Pro II Radiator 35.99 ClearFlex 60 Tubing 1/2" ID 3/4" OD ClearFlex 60 Tubing 1/2" ID 3/4" OD get 8 or 10 feet of it 8 is 10.00 Fillport Reservoir comes with the fillport $25.90 $180.64 thats the total and thats using top of the line and not a kit. You could go to target or some where and get some zip ties to tie the tubing to the 1/2 fittings. You should look around on tubing theres some places that sell it for real cheap or try your hardware store. | |

| Apex Techie Wannabe | If I were to decide on a new case, should I go with water cooling built in or just do it myself at a later date and time. I am thinking about a LianLi or Thermaltake case, something with good hard drive wire management options. I have an older full tower that's taken a beating from being hauled back and forth from home and lan parties. I would just use it but some of the parts, such as the hard drive bay, has started to become loose from it's travels. Specs: AMD 64 3500+ 1 gig of Corsair XMS gaming ram 9800 pro Asus A8V deluxe Looking at cpu and graphic card cooling. Chipset cooling is an option as well. Looking to OC but not to break records with it. Just want a little extra power out of it, you all know what I mean. Any help would be appreciated. | |

| Apex Master Tech | Which LianLi will you be getting. Ive seen alot of people mod those things really nicely. You should go with what I told you to get those Are highends for a really good price. Then acouple of months add a GPU water block then another couple of months a Maze4. | |

| Apex Techie Wannabe | The main ones that caught my eye were: http://www.xoxide.com/pcv1100.html http://www.xoxide.com/lian-li-v1200b.html http://www.xoxide.com/pc6070b.html ...of course I would like to buy them as cheap as possible. The ones with the seperate compartment for power supply and/or hard drives look sweet. The cable management would prob be easy that way with sata drives and a nice power supply that allows you to use what you need without excess wires. | |
