Default UV Tubing VS UV Dye?

I've been planning on doing a watercooling setup for my next rig, and am looking at a color scheme of flat black with uv blue, and some chrome, but i'm kinda wondering, is there anypoint to putting uv dye if you are going to have uv tubing of same color? since there better not be any air bubbles in the tubing, you won't know what is the tubing and what is the water, will it give the glow a better look? has anyone done this to see if there is any point?

Well, I used clear tubing and UV dye. The UV dye is cheaper if you consider that the $8-10 bottle will last maybe a half dozen coolant fillups, versus spending $1-2 per foot for the UV tubing. And in non UV lighting, my coolant looks clear. I guess it's upto you really.

I agree with the way it looks, but i don't quite agree with your comment on the price. If you use dye, depending on how long you have your watercooling setup, the price may well exceed the price of UV tubing.

I don't know about that, I paid under 10 bucks for a small bottle of Dye-LIte over 2 years ago and it's still over 2/3's full. And I can guarantee I go through more coolant than half a dozen average users.

I have used both....
I have UV tubing now...
UV Dye goes a long long way....and its cheaper...
But there are side effects even if minimal to DYE.....
Dont belive me? take the pump apart next time you clean the system...Look inside...Look in your water blocks....
It's more expensive but optimal to use the tubing....
However its all up to personal choice..
