Default C-Systems CSP750 Mark II water pump

whatever happened with these little guys?

i would love to buy 2 of them and run them in my setup, but i really havent heard a whole lot since they revised the early editions to fix the housing leaks.

anyone running this pump single or dual setup want to comment? i currently run a Hydor L40 pump, with a RBX block and a BI EX rad. i know these little things wont compare to the L40, but depending on how much i lose, if its all in the right place i may swap my pump out for these. if i was to buy one tho, i would have to buy the dual setup.

anyways, thanks

Well the revision 2 of those little pumps hit the market a little while ago and the new revision idn't fix the housing problems. From what I have heard from others is that the seals leak and coolant leaks into the motor causing it to corrode. You might want to look at the Danger Den D4 pump I have had mine in my main rig for almost a year and I have loved it since I got it.

do you keep your rig running 24/7?

you use a relay or a fan controller for your rig?

I've read far too many horror stories about this pump to even consider buying one. The pump is one of those things that has to be reliable IMO. Luckily most of the other widely available pumps on the WCing scene are produced by companies who have been manufacturing pumps for a wide array of applications for years now. If the extra money is holding you back you can always check ebay. If you go this route make sure you ask the seller for a detailed description of the condition of the pump and what application it was used for, and for how long.

Most of the time I do run it 24/7 (I turn it off at night about 2-3 days a week). It's not on a relay or a fan controller, since it's a 12 volt pump I just hooked it up to the power supply and let it run with the power supply when the computer is on.

i ended up buying a DD D4 pump last night. while those Csystems pumps would have been cool, its a shame they are junk. iirc they have only reached a mean time of only 20k hours where as all the other pumps offer atleast 50k mth.

i just really liked the pumps ebcause they were small, looked very nice and can be powered off a fan plug. this D4 pump will be my first 12 volt pump. i knew i could hook it right up to a molex conenctor, but i didnt know if people used a relay to start the pump first then the system, or what. i plan on runnig this bad boy 24/7 once i am confortable witht he setup. right now with my Hydor L40, i just have this bad feeling about leaving it on over night. i just have a feeling since it is inside my case, if i left it on it would get too hot and shutoff on its own. tho i have ran it 24+ hours straight before when i was Lan gaming, and didnt have any problems there. so who knows. maybe i will just throw it in my aquairium or sell it on ebay. its too bad this pump cost me $100.

if anyone wants a hydor L40 like 785 GPH and 13 foot head.. i will sell $60 + shipping hehe

anyways, thanks for the imput. i liked those small pumps, but i doubt i would have bought one anyways due to i need high pressure for my RBX block, and those little guyys dont seem to be able to cut it.

Why not this one then?:
http://www.swiftnets.com/products/mcp350.as (relabeled Laing DDC)

Nearly as small as the C-systems pump and greater maximum head than the D4....

Anon, personally I'd go for the 650 over the 350, a few reasons;

~650 is 1/2" ID by default, yes you can convert the 350 but the conversion, whilst not really affecting any of the pressure of the pump, does require a bit of space.
~the 650 can swing a higher flowrate, if L30's and Eheim 1250's can push water through a RBX, maze 4, heatercore and quite a bit of tubing with GOOD flow then I'd assumed the average 'head' that a WC loop needs is 4-5', at that amount of head the 650 offers better flow than the 350. The 350 doesnt really start to win out till your talking jet impingement block + high flow rest-of-loop
~the 350 is small but it isnt THAT much smaller, it offers another 2 feet of head whilst loosing about 200gph max flow;
~when you run pumps in series, 2 pumps can never exceed the max flow of 1 pump but they do improve the PQ curve; point being 2 350's dont really mean anything whereas 2 650's can really boost the flow of a real world loop.
