Default 80mm to 120mm adapter for RAD/Fan

Can I put a dtek 120mm rad on this adapter? I've tried everything to add a 120mm rad/fan to my acrylic with 80mm holes and this seems to be the only way.

Could you explain what you are doing? I dont realy follow from your previous post. though I dont see why it wont act as either a 120mm fan or a 80mm fan.

Just enlarge the 80mm hole to fit a 120mm fan...
80mm fan that will move enough air to cool effectivly will be way Noisey...

the pwr/rst/ and led's are in the way. By using the adapter it gives me enough room to mount the rad away from the front cover where the buttons are. I took the front of the case (it's acrylic) to a few glass shops and noone would touch it. One said it's too thick for him to cut, the other said he doesn't have the right tools to drill a hole that big (120mm).

! acrylic is realy easy to drill. I think all you need is a 4.5in hole saw. or a dremel and a cd asa template.

just go at slow speeds so you don't melt the acrylic.

if those glass places wouldn't touch it, they gotta be pretty incompetent . ..

I put my hollywood magic to good use..

See what I mean is the pwr/reset buttons and led lights get in the way of me cutting the 120mm hole.

The guy I went to actually specializes in acrylic and he couldn't do it! I practiced on a glass bay cover that I won't be using and the dremel cuts through it like nothing. I tried relocating the switches and leds but it wouldn't look too good after.

The 80mm to 120mm adapter gives about an inch or 2 distance back allowing me to use the 120mm rad.

i had the same problem with my acrylic case, but it was in back, and right under the psu. i just bought a dremal and cut out a large enough space for rad to sit. it is actually a perfect fit. it sits right under the PSU, and right next to the PCI slots. there is a little lip on the side that causes the side panel to barely bulge out, but if i really wanted to, i could have made it flush.

here is a link to a pic at a lan i went to recently.

you can see where i did the cut on the back of the case, and where my Rad sits.

my advice, buy a dremel and make your own mod.

or think about moving your rad somewhere else.
