Default How to install frame on TDX block?

Anyone know how to put these things together? I would think the small metal caps that are close to the tab side of the frame would go into the bottom holes of the plastic top of the water block, but they don't fit. Any pictures showing exactly how it is done? Any advice?

It doesn't show anything on how to put the tabs-frame on the water block. I bought the tabs-frame because my motherboard uses tabs, not 4 bolts. Those instructions don't help at all.

Socket Hold Down Version (AMD Only)

1. Complete steps 2, 3, 4, and 5 above.

2. The block comes with the Socket Hold Down attached. Ensure the springs are completely compressed.

3. Loosen two of the side bolts (one side only) Slide the assembly on over the socket tabs. Tighten the side bolt to lock the assembly onto the tabs.

4. Loosen each brass thumbscrew one turn (on a diagonal pattern). The block will make contact with the CPU. Continue to loosen each thumbscrew on a diagonal until it separates from the aluminum top.

5. Double check (if possible) from the side to ensure the block is making contact with the CPU.

By the way, what motherboard are you using?

OK you should have the nutz with the shoulder and threaded rod, go up through the Acrylic top from the cpu side...
Then a nylon washer
a spring
another washer,
the aluminum frame
then another washer
then the thumbnutz...

You tighten the thumbnutz to lift the block away from the CPU,
attach the frame to the socket,
tighten the allen head screws...
unscrew the tumbnutz to lower the block toward the CPU in a criss-cross pattern...

When the block makes contact with the CPU, the thumbscrews should be totally loose...
hint: a small dab of hot glue on the top of the threaded rod will keep the thumbsnutz from backing off and short something should they vibrate off...

Enjoy!!

I found this pic to help you see what it supposed to look like when assembled if you haven't already seen it.

The metal nut with the shoulder won't slide into the water block plastic holes. That is, they can drop in from the top but I swear they won't go in through the bottom (from the cpu side). That's how I thought they went but they just won't push in. It's like the holes are tapered or something, being smaller on the CPU side than on the hose-connector side.
Are they supposed to slide in easily or are they supposed to be stuck in there really hard? I could easily correct the material defect (if that is what it is) with my drill press if need be.

They'll go just push a little...you want them to be tight so they dont vibrate...be carefull not to crack the plexi maybe roll up some fine sandpaper and massage the hole a little,
tight is good,
too tight will split...

They are made with a Lazer cutting rig and that is the way they come directly off the machine...
