Question What's the biggest heater core?

I want to buy a regular heater core to save money but I want a good size one. The biggest I have found was a GMC Van 1994, 9.5" x 7.5" x 2". It is maddening to just search every ebay listing. The auto parts places don't usually give size data because they figure your fixing a certain car.
So, what is the biggest heater core out there that seems to work well. (This will be an outside the case device with dual fans.) Please give make, model, and year if possible. Example: Chevy Camaro 1982. Just saying Chevy don't help much. If I know all three things I can go down to Autozone and buy one.

So what's the biggest heater core?

Thanks.................Sam

Go to an auto parts store and ask for the heater core book. There will be a bunch of pages with pictures of each heatercore and everything you need to know about it. Some places do not have a book, so just move on to the next one.

If the data I have found is correct then this is the biggest heater core:

Length 12.125"
Width 7.875"
Depth 2"
Inlet/outlet 0.625", 0.625"

Part #: FEDCO 2-354, 74-80, Plymouth, TRAIL DUSTER
Part #: FEDCO 2-354, 72-80, Dodge Truck, D/W PICKUP 1500, 2500, 3500
Part #: FEDCO 2-354, 74-80, Dodge Truck, RAMCHARGER

FEDCO 2-354
CUC 9124
GDI 399124
ARS 9124
4SEASONS 94634
MURRAY 279222
STANT 90124
EVERCO 2189

About $50 U.S. new at an auto parts store. Little pricey.

I bet the heater core for a school or greyhound bus would be HUGE.

There is an online heatercore database here

BTW I have seen somewhere a PC W/C system with a radiator that actually did come from a bus...

Exactly, a heatercore is just a little radiator, maybe start looking for small radiators?

I think Hawkeye is using an F-250 heatercore on his rig.

Scrapyard for big rigs. Slap a Peterbilt or Mac badge on the front of your case.

I doubt its the biggest. Its like 7 by 8 and 3/4" I think were the measurements

Also a radiator and a heatercore are different. A radiator loops back and forth-there was an article in overclockers cafe about it. I'll see if I can find it.

The 77 Bonneville (I think, I'll check the year right now) is a great size It will accomodate two 120mm fans pusing or pulling air or four 120mm fans in a push pull config. Just be sure to get a nice shroud and you will be set.

EDIT: Yes that is the right year.
