| Title says it all, I'm new to watercooling, and just to get my feet wet (no pun intended) can anyone suggest a good watercooling kit for say no more than $200-250? I have a Thermaltake SVA4000 viking case, an X-Connect 500w PSU and a good amount of room to put stuff inside, so preferably an internal kit. | ||

| Well, it's not a huge case but certainly possible. You could remove the hard drive bays and a black ice pro or black ice Xtreme would fit behind the front intake. Then mount the hard drive using rails in the 5 1/4" bays. Or you could use something like Swiftech's rad box and mount it outside on the back and keep the room inside. If you were to go with 3/8" tubing, you could use the pci pass through and wouldn't even have to cut anything. Good beginner kits in your price range would include the Asetek kit. Less performance, but much cheaper, the Swiftech H20-120™ Rev 3 can be had for a bargain price. But don't be afraid of custom kits either. For about the same as you'd pay for a very good performing kit like the asetek, you could built a DangerDen kit that would perform as well or better. TDX block DD 12volt pump BlackIce Xtreme fans, tubing and fittings can be had for about $240. Not a bad price and the added size of the Xtreme rad and the added head of the DD pump would probably push it ahead of the asetek in performance. | ||

Well if your using a thermaltake case, you might want to consider the "Thermaltake BigWater 12cm Liquid Cooling System". Its about $150, and my experience with it was excellent. the kit is easily installed, and thermaltake cases have a built in area to install the pump. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||

| My first experience with helping a friend who got a kit was really not a great experience. The temps were better but not by much. I just installed my first WC system and it is incredible the diffs in my temps and my friends. If there is a kit to get it would be the Swiftech or the Astek water chill. I also think cooling the GPU is really important! But again building a kit from the ground up is more effective... | ||
