Question stacking peltiers

first of all is it possible to stack them? and if so, will there be a condinsation problem?

im thinking about buying the thermaltake subzero 4g
and putting my zalman 7000b hsf on top that peltier for option (one).

for option (two), getting two mid to high grade peltiers, and stack them, w/ my zalman or other hsf.

OR is "the juice not worth the squeeze."

(both options are about the same price.)

Yes you can stack them, and with each sandwich you make you have to increase the cooling of the hot side. The voltage that one draws is enough, but two or more would kill a normal PSU. I'm talking 175W pelts or higher. I've done pelt cooling and the trouble isn't worth the benefits.

thank you
i would have just enough wattage for two peltiers(until i get my nvidia 6800 vga), but if its not worth the effort then ill put my time elswere on my rig.

ps. is there a better hsf out there for the same money as the zalman 7000b cu? or is that as good as it gets for 40-50 buck$.(sushi doesn't pay much)
thanx again

For 50 bucks you can get the 7700cu (120mm fans..)
You'll want a second PSU for more than 1 pelt no matter what.

Yeah, I ran two PSU's when I was pelting. The 7000 is a great HS and even though I have quite a few to choose from, I run the 7000 in my main rig.

Well, there's also the thermalright si-97 (replaced the sp-97) http://forums.pcapex.com/showthread....ighlight=si-97

I haven't used the si, but i used to use the sp (it rocked, but was scary heavy....the si is much lighter)

nice that is the one that i was torn between, but i decided on the zalman because i didnt want go and find a a fan, and that the zalman was 100% copper, but the 97 had heat pipes it was a win win situation, there both too good to have to chose between i should have just gotten a dual cpu mobo to have them both in one happy family.
and is there a way to replace the fan on the zalman for an led one( a red one, not blue)
the 7700 is is a great hsf but its for 64 and intel, but thanx for your intrest

From what i've read and heard from the pimps here, the Zalman is an excellent choice. Happy (quiet ) cpu cooling to you.
