| Apex Techie Wannabe | peltier why is it bad to use the same psu for your peltier as for your comp? if for instance I was using low watt pelts a 80 and a 110 and I heard that an 80 w only heats the temp of the water by 2 degrees so i could just not use a 110 for the comp I was wannting to go pletier cooling and thinking about using my psu that is on my comp for my pelts my psu is a 580 watt demon powmax powersupply and if anyone knows wether i have to use the cold plate from danger den or if i can use a pure silver one from http://www.aquastealth.com the one from aquastealth has no mounting holes. | |

| i think the main problem is that your average pelt draws current like a black hole. if you volted each of the pelts at 24V, you're still talking just under 8 Amps. just go with a seperate PSU, that kind of constant draw will eat into your computer's juice. EDIT: here, read this thread. http://forums.pcapex.com/showthread....ht=peltier+psu | ||
