| so i turn off my comp today, and i think i smell some coolant. weird, since its been checked repeatedly for leaks. lo and behold, water is coming out of the front of my hydor l30 (not the tube iself, but out of the front of the pump). i took some household cement, and covered basically the entire front in it, hopefully that will seal up the leak. kinda strange, it happened out of nowhere | ||

| You need to figure out exactly where it is leaking. You either have a crack in the impeller housing (usually from over tightening the barbs), or you are leaking from a seal. The other option would be leaking from a barb connection or hose connection. Anyhow, sorry to hear about your leak. This has not been a big problem with the L30 to date. | ||

| i figured out what it was. the barb on the front, the intake one that isheld on with that blue piece, got bent cause i had too short of a tube on it and it was pullng it up, i put it back on and caulked every opening on the blue thing, it looks nasty but hopefully it will work,, ill get a new one eventually but right now i need a temporary solution, ill post pics tomorrow | ||

| tried everything, still leaking... pos as far as im concerned, while i might have put a little pressure on it, it was nothing it should not have handled, and its rediculous that i have to replace it. the l3 is quiet and has good flow rates, but cmon the design of the front is obviously ass if it cant handle a little of vertical pull (it wasnt that much i assure you). hydor is a company i will not uy from again, water cooling components only get 1 chance, cuase theres too much risk involved to give them 2, luckily my mobo missed the puddle ( i think, i havnt actually fired it up yet) | ||

| its unfortunate u had a bad incident with the hydor i have recently got one for my first water cooling mine luckily will be submersed but it looks as tho u had a run in with bad luck and although im not trying to be nasty it sounds like its ur fault its a pump designed for fish tankks it isnt meant to be indestructable it should be treated with respect | ||

| Apex Techie Wannabe | I used to use an L20(basically the same as the l30). That same thing happened to me once, seems that pump body gasket dries out or something. Luckily I had two of those pumps. You could e-mail the home office of Hydor, I think they sell replacement parts. | |

There is a keyway that has to line up, and it is possible that you might have turned it out of place fittting up the hose. Remove the blue ring and spin the plate till you feel it seat. Then screw down the blue collar.

Yeah I was about to mention that..... If that keyway isnt in just right then the housing doesnt sit completeley in the socket....The Rubber O-Ring can only take so much....were you cavitatiing or getting any air prior to the big leak? the blue locking ring is pretty thick and doesn't appear to break to easily...Not sure what happened in your case but I have been running this pump over a year now and no problems at all....
