| Ok here is the deal at this point and time i am looking into watercooling heres the deal im tired of buying fans ,tired of the noise,if i was to upgrade its not really that big o deal, and im wanting to build up case from scratch cause the kid is going nuts not building anything.Or showing any art outlet ( no place to paint) Here is the kicker though a while back in the forums and i have sen this myself there was a site that sold raditors that were a little dinged up or have a little blimish here or there.Where did it go ,man if i knew i wouldnt be asking you all to help me out here. So if anyone knows of a place where i can get a cheap raditor or a slightly blemished one let me know, hey have one to sell give me a yell might take it off your hands. At the time thats all im looking for its going to have to be pieced together slowly. thanks for all the info in advance flounder405 | ||

| Most watercooling retailers have a "bargain bin" or "clearance items". I'd try that, but even then a heater core can be had from any local auto parts store for $20 or less, which is still probably less than the clearance items once shipping is added....and I don't know if I'd want a dented radiator. ![]() If that fails, you could also try a junkyard. Those will be even cheaper. Also, you're still going to need some fans in your system if you're going for a typical radiator. If you want to go totally fanless, you'll have to go a bit more exotic...and big. | ||

| I agree Anonymous that ill need fans but a couple of 120s will not hurt me any.The fans im tire of replacing are the litte ones for the NB and video cards that seem to go for just a 1/4 of a year.Thought about it for the cost of those little suckers being replaced i could allready have a block and be saving for another one in the near future. plus the site im looking for the red wasnt dinged but the housing for the fans were i could live with that | ||

...What's wrong with donuts? I like donuts too I agree, do your local autoparts store, for a new heatercore. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||

| I don't remember the all the exact dates off-hand. '76 for the Caprice and '86 for the Chevette will get you what you want. Both were used for several years, but you just need the one date. There are plenty of other heater cores that would work and plenty that would not work well or would be difficult to convert. Those two will get you a copper and brass construction piece. And both are dirt cheap. You can easily pay 3 or 4 times that for some heater cores. Fedco used to have a online database with all the sizes including inlet and outlet for the cores they make. But it's either moved or gone off line. | ||

| I have a Eheim 1250 pump, a MAZE4 CPU block (w/o fittings), 2 Evercool 120mm fans with bored out screwholes and a pump relay kit I would sell you for 70 USD plus shipping. Payment would be sent after the items were received. I apologize if offering stuff for sale outside of the trading post isn't allowed, just trying to be of help. EDIT: Ah what the heck, I'll sell it all to you for $60 = S&H Last edited by ion; 28-May-04 at 10:13 PM.. | ||

| Apex Techie Lite | That would be a decent setup. I run everything there except only one fan. All you would need is a rad. As everyone has said you can get one cheap. The maze 4 isn't the best but it's good enough for the price. Hell, to get a brand new 1250 would cost you most of that price. Fittings only cost a couple bucks. All you would need is some tubbing and the rad. | |
