| Freck-hoe-d | Head over to DangerDen to find a selection of parts, this is what I would recommend: TDX (Silver if you can afford it) Black Ice Extreme 2 (or just the regular if you dont have room for it) Vantec Stealth Fan (if your going for silence) or some kick ass fan like a delta screamer Tubing (tygon will work) Distilled Water (from your local grocerie store) Zerek Racing Coolant (From the Den helps with heat transfer)

| Apex Tech Fanatic Supreme | A good beginer kit is easy, depending on how much you want to spend and if you want to do it all yourself ie build your own.But from what it sounds you want it simple. The globalWin Silent Stream is easy to install and just kools the processor and its cheap, bout $90.00. Or The evercool 201 5.25", it cools the proc and your agp card with a nifty readout that fits in your 5.25" for @ $130.00 again fairly easy to install. Another begining kit is the Thermaltake Aquarius 2, easy to install for @ $108.00. All with Instructions and around a bill so check them out. XOXIDE has good info on all of them.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | If you are going to buy low end crap, stick with high end air cooling. Cheaper, safer, and just as effective (or more effective). Mercencary, what is your budget? What are your space limitations? Are you aiming for silence or huge oc's? If you want a great kit that is very easy to install and has great cooling properties .......... I strongly recommend the Koolance Exos. Review here: http://reviews.pcapex.com/cooling/ko...and_blocks.php

| Apex Tech Fanatic Supreme | I agree with putwig because after reading that same review i went with the koolance exos aluminum. You have a lrge variety of options with it but of course more dough. If your going to do it you should do it right.

| Aqua Pimp | For a beginner, Koolance of course is a good choice. Another option if your comfortable modding your case to accomodate a radiator is the asetek kits. Figure $235-$250 depending on which radiator you choose. Outside of mounting the radiator the rest of the kit is very n00b friendly. It comes with the best set of instructions I've seen to date. And not only is it an easy install, with the new Antarctica block, it's one of the best performing kits you can buy. Period. And more than enough room to grow if you choose. There are of course cheaper options if you want to build your own. But as putwig said, we need more info to make a good recommendation.

![]() | Koolance is for a person who wants an all in one easy to set up system. If you are like me and enjoy new experiences and have the aptitude to do a little modding then I suggest you go hardcore all the way. This also makes the choice of massive oc's or quiet moot as you can have both. I am running 2.1v through my chip, have a GPU & NB block and my temps are still 34-38c running papst 120mm fans (renowned for being quiet). And the temps could be better if I made two improvments (which are in the works). So first question to you is, are you the quick and easy type or do you want to go hardcore XXX? If your answer is easy then exos is the answer and the thread is done. If your answer is XXX then the next question is what are your space limitations and are you willing to upgrade your case if necessary or would you prefer a seperate box to contain all of the water cooling stuff (similar to the exos)?
