| Apex Techie Wannabe | i was thinking about maybe sometime buying a mini chest freezer,,, i've seen them for like 70 bucks.. drilling 2 holes in the top of it, putting a nice big heater core/ radiator inside,,,having one of the tubes coming out of the pc case,,, right into the freezer (and the holes where the tubes came in would be cauked/ insulated like crazy)....and into the radiator out the rad and back out the freezer back to the pc... what are all of ur thoughts on this? just seems like it would be really effective... and an interesting thing to try out... | |

| Apex Techie Wannabe | good point,,, i guess i could buy a ton of foam things and insulate the tubes,,, or hopefully it wouldnt' need that much.. but i think it would be worth it,, having my water temps below ambient would be awesome.. but u wouldnt' be able to see the pretty uv glow anymore ![]() | |

| some other threads regarding using a mini-fridge for a super-cooled PC. The consensus is it won't work Because: 1] Of condensation 2] Your PC is a heat source. The mini-fridge is great at cooling stuff that is hot but then stays cold. A constant heat source like a PC will just kill the compressor by over-working it. Ive been succinct here. Do some more reading and see what wiser heads have said. -MF | ||
