| I'm sure we have all seen the mods of liquid nitrogen cooling, but, how would you go about making a setup that would continiously work, and be in a case (possibly large 36'' customed cube case) Of some sort? What kind of stuff would you need... Is there a place where you can get kits? What kind of sealant and anti-precip stuff would you need? I'm curious to know, and wondering if any of you know.. /Runiteshark - Looking to get even more performance from processors. | ||

| Dry ice and liquid nitrogen aren't intended for long-term use (at least not for overclocking hobbyists unless you have some SERIOUS money). If you're serious about cooling go for cascade phase-change cooling. This is one of the funnier questions I've heard in a while....kit he says. ![]() | ||

Well I dont know if it can be completely closed. There is a LN2 storage facility about 10 miles from me, owned by Boc Gases. They have a HUGE outdoor storage tank, and it has relief valves on the top, you can see the vapor escaping almost constantly. Im sure if it could be totally closed they would close it, as i sure they lose plenty of dough with all the gas boiling off at a constant rate. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||

| its just air and a big compressor but electricity isnt cheap. either way in theroy you would end up with a giant thing of pipes and motors outside your house in the form of a chiller or a really expensive sterling cooler. or have the Air Products truck come every week. so if you want the sub zero chill go get a vapochill unit | ||

| Here's another, more detailed explanation pertaining to the liquid nitrogen dilemma: http://forums.extremeoverclocking.co...ad.php?t=84807 If you want better cooling (long-term) than what's commercially available, you'll have to look into how to make a cascade system by yourself, like I said earlier. Here are some articles to get you started: http://www.vr-zone.com/?i=618&s=1 http://www.akiba-pc.com/article.php?29.0 http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...threadid=14231 http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...threadid=19517 http://www.phase-change.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=18 http://overclockers.com/tips1032/ Also, check the phase-change/extreme cooling forums of those respective sites for a wealth of knowledge. If done right you could be in the -100's. Hope that helps. P.S>If you do go down that road, make sure you don't kill yourself. ![]() Last edited by lAnonymousl; 13-May-04 at 09:01 AM.. | ||
