| It depends on your size constraints, because bigger is generally better. Heater cores are probably your best bet and if you tell me the dimensions you want to fit this rad in, I can probably find a good one for you. If size isn't an issue this is one of the biggest things you can find: http://www.thermochill.com/he1203.php Last edited by lAnonymousl; 02-February-05 at 07:22 PM.. | ||

| The black ice micro IS made out of copper. The small swiftech radiator is a black ice micro clone, no advantage there. The larger Swiftech radiator is not a great performer either. The best radiators are copper or copper and brass heater core style. Such as The Black Ice rads, the thermochill rads and actual heater cores. Simply put, bigger is better. Anything that can fit a larger or more fans will perform better. Even though a Black Ice Xtreme has about the same surface area as a Black Ice Dual. The dual will outperform it because it has room for two fans. Even if you upgraded to a Black Ice Pro with a single 120 you'd see some nice gains. Heater cores are of course the best bang for the buck out there. Use the biggest you can fit and you'll see some improvement. And don't forget to get a good quality fan to go with it. | ||

| Apex Techie Lite | thanks for the help,,, yeah right now my danger den one is in my case,,, but its really eating up a lot of my space,, so i think my next radiator i'd probably mount on the outside back of my case... just took this picture a minute ago,, my comp is still highly under construction haha... ![]() | |

| I'll ask again since you never replied to the last thread. What is your ambient temp? What processor are you using? Mobo? And what are you using to read temps? 40 degrees C is certainly not that high in many cases. If your under 15 degrees over ambient, you are doing well. If your under 10 degrees over ambient, you're doing great. Don't let BS forum claims of low temps taken off a mobo monitor fool you into thinking your temp is really high. Take a look here. No BS temps using a Black Ice Xtreme and two of the best blocks available. Notice the temps in the 40's? Then look here. There can be a huge difference between cpu's. If you want to improve what you have now without buying a new radiator, go ahead and move the rad outside the case. Then build a shroud for it. Or just gut a couple of old fans for a shroud and bolt a couple of high output 38mm x 80mm fans on it. Run them through your baybus for a little peace and quiet while just surfing and crank 'em up for gaming. I'd wager you could drop a couple of degrees that way. | ||

| Apex Techie Lite | yeah sorry i hadn't replied yet... ummm ambient i'm not exactly sure cause my on mobo system temp is f-ed up (i believe).. but i'm pretty sure its around 30 degrees or soo.. i'm using a 3.4c 800fsb... mobo is MSI 875p-neo fis2r to read my cpu temps i use the on mobo sensor,, but i have a feeling it might be messed up cause if i touch the copper bottom of my polar flo block its not very hot at all.... | |
