Default Trying to find something i cant find!

Ive seen several reviews on a passive water cooling radiator and now i cant seem to find it at all. Several google searches for (blue passive radiator) has prove only partially succesfull, bringing up other solutions than the one i want.

All i can remember is this:
Its blue
Its a large, under 2 foot tall cylinder, the 2 feeds for the water are at the bottom.
The whole system is an all in one...i think. It has either got a Rad and res, or a rad res and pump.
The raditaor is the cylinder itself - large fins extrude form it, removing the heat.

The sooner I find this, the sooner I can finalize plans for my ultimate rig. Drawings etc will be posted shortly.

thanks

Is this the one you mean?
http://www.watercooling.de/catalog/p...46&language=en

It's blue, passive, 18" tall, with large fins...

EDIT: Looks like Luna found the right one.

ahh i have something else to ask - is this cheap???:

yeh i guessed global shipping is costy - but i cant seem to find this thing anywhere else. did a google and a kelkoo search in UK for places selling it and it only came up with reviews.

I did a currency convertor to find it was around £215 total. £60 for shipping. At that price its questionable, but if theres somewhere selling it cheaper who will ship it, let me no.

thanks.

$109 is a bit much for Global Express they are probably making 50% or more on that. I have shipped 20lb packages to the UK wit Global Express Guranteed EMS and it was a lot cheaper than that.

What if I told you we could do better cooling for under $50. You could buy everything locally, and the sound would be under 30dB.

that statment goes very well with your grim reaper m8 - id laff in your face and tell you to go buy it from K mart. but is that a passive or an active rad?? is there a flow metre in the system, and is there a waterblock included??

Bells and whistles don't cool...
but copper and a silent fan will...locally obtained for less than 50bux...
Who's laughing now!

As Zen alluded, I was only talking about the rad. No pump, flow meter, or waterblock.

Honestly man, you are considering spending almost $400 on your rad alone! Unless you recently won the lotto ........ you've got rocks for brains!

A Caprice heater core with two 120mm shrouded fans will cost less than $50. If the fans are choosen wisely, or paired with a rheostat, they will be inaudible.

Most importantly, it will cool better than any passive rad.

2 cents

I've read some good review on this system, but, from what i've read in forums I wouldn't touch it....... not if you overclock or are using a Prescott.

BTW - Xoxide.com has it too, I dunno if they ship internationally, but worth checking out.

yeh thanks cre - i would be using it with an overclocked 2500 (only reaching probably 2.0, 2.1 ghz at max) on that sort of OC, the water reaches about 20-24 C, which to me is quite efficient. The main reason i want this cooler is the shape, and the ability to mod it. as ive said designs will be just around the corner.

Nev, the Zalman Reserator 1 is interesting, and I'll make these points. You still have descissions to make, they remain yours.

1. That is an all-in-one solution for CPU cooling. There is no DIY, but if you can Mod it without hurting it's function, go for it.

2. You can replace the weak internal pump with a standard one later if you need more power, like if you add a GPU water block. But don't go crazy, if the pump is too strong then that's a bad thing. The real deal is that you can build around this thing, but because some components are integrated, like the pump, and the res/rad, then you almost have to double up. Like a pump will add more power, and a larger water block will allow that bigger pump to do some good work. But then you need additional cooling. You see where I am headed ?

So look, it's your choice, get what you want, money is generally renewable.

cheerz m8 yeh it all depends on what my designing finds. If i dont have enough room then i will have to consider my options.

It isn't small, when you get to that website your going to see that it stands about 3 feet high and is about as big around as a grapefruit. It's a large unit bro.

I am after a passive radiator also, but I am looking at the Convectomatic-Maxi from Innovatek. The Maxis are all out of stock, and HighspeedPC is the only place I have found in the US that sells the Maxi. No reason to spend $150 on the smaller one and find out it's not enough, just spend the extra $40 up front and make sure.

Yah - the innovatek units would probably be cheaper for you by a large margin. I don't know where the store is now you there is a UK site that sells them but I'll look after work, and with the money saved you'd be able to afford a far better performing Alphacool NexXxoS HP Pro block and pump.
