And your planning to overclock with a gigabyte There are alot of water coolong pimps here that could point you in the right direction, i thought mounting with the four holes was optional for most water blocks.

dose the bios lei when it reads 3200? and i think that easy tune crap waid i was runign liek 2.xxxghz(prog is a pos i hate software clocking..)

did i get boned agin? i always find nice eviews, till i buy them....first my epox, now this..poo

what makes it so bad for oc'ing? i just realized the multiplyer in liek a physical feature on this board, i was about to take a hammer to the bios, it ****gin blows! it dosent have any fine tunign stuff, just fsb and voltage...bahh

any sugestions?

edit:also if i was to cool with liquid, 3/8 or 1/2?

edit2: is the hydro l30 pump any good? i just get this flimsy vibe from it...

edit3: it kinda looks liek this clamp thing makes it go on the socket teeth things.. http://dangerden.com/mall/blocks/maze4.asp

I know dangerden for one sells waterblocks with hold-down mechanisms. Here is a link to one for their RBX:
http://dangerden.com/mall/Blocks/rbx.asp

Edit1: 1/2 if you have the room
Edit2: It's fine.

zykon, i have the same problems. not to mention amd locked the multipliers.
but yea, i dont use easytune except for monitoring the system, i do all my oc in bios. (which only lets you change fsb and voltage). i suggest you get a new mobo before this one loses its value. wish i had done that...

cool, is ther a huge advantage between the maze4 and the rbx?

is a shim recominded

i have gathered that i shoudl get a dangerden heatcore, is the dual a ton better than the singel(will i knowtes a diffrence in temps)

is ther a reliable way to setup a water temp thermal probe?

and finaly, are water addatives such as water wetter worth the money'?>

thnx people? :}

ME HAS A WEEK 32 BARTON

edit: i have all the room i coudl ever need, i have a cube(directron) and i dont have a problem cutign it up(as i have) damnit i needa camra... and is it worth getign a peltie block, if i am mabye gunna do it(like later this summer) or dose not havign a wafer in ther mess it up?

The RBX is the better block. Huge? No, but any advantage helps if your pushing the edge.

Single is plenty to cool a cpu. See above for dual.

You can buy a prebuilt probe with barbs on each end. Or you can slip a probe between a hose and barb and clamp it down.

No, anything you add will negatively effect cooling. But you do need some type of additive. Watter Wetter works. A 5% mix of common antifreeze works just as well at preventing corrosion. A capful of antialgal fluid is not a bad idea either.

Zalman, DangerDen, Innovatek, Swiftech and many others make socket mounts for waterblocks.

The Koolance socket mount is pretty sweet, and they now have 3/8" and 1/2" blocks.

Being on a budget kick ass air is what you need. Thermalright has the SLK900A which doesnt require mounting holes. Its a good heatsink, just couple it to a good fan and you have you some head room. But not having those mounting holes will set you back A LOT!

This is the 3-tab mount from dangerden it works with all their blocks and I would imagine most that use the 4 hole system..

ya i had that huge ass zalman thing, but im trying to sell it(no holes..) ill take a look at that air but dose anyoen know of any super awsom places to buy stuff? im kinda set on water, ive been air cooling for 3 years, and am board of it..

how about the SP97 with leik a 125 cfm fan? lol. dose heatpipign make a huge ass effec? i ahev never played wih it. also what you guys think of the new areo pipe towers?

funny thing about my case, ther is an intake fan located directly infrom of the proc, it lines up almost perfect, witch means my proc gets new, non circulated air.

i have an intake on bottum, and in front of proc(80mm, mobo side) 2 outputs on the top(on the mobo side of the case, its a duble wide cube) and 2 92mm on utility side(hdd psu drives ect) one psu vents to outside, onther on circulates air inside(nerd--2 psu)

coudl i peltie with the SP97 efectivly?

have them

are either of these good?

http://www.frozencpu.com/cgi-bin/fro...pu-aer-01.html

http://www.frozencpu.com/cgi-bin/fro...pu-aer-02.html

also is ther anyway to smush a tec in between that and the chip? or do u have to ahve a special hs?

and is the 2500+ worth buying/making a peltier system? what kinda clock coudl i expect with it? and hwo hard is it to do sub zero coolign with air?

I haven't heard too many people who've used them yet so your best bet would probably be to check out some reviews and do a few forum searches to find some feedback.

Yes, although i wouldn't recommend peltier cooling on air either way. You would also need a TEC plate to put between the pelt and chip, probably a new PSU, and a way to prevent condensation. It sounds like you just mentioned peltier cooling on a whim but don't really know much about it. It isn't something you just jump into. If you are looking at peltiers seriously, I'd do some more research beforehand if I were you.

I'll just say that if you were going to spend extra money on cooling for any CPU, the 2500+ would probably be it. Clock speed depends on the CPU, your cooling, and the rest of your system....there is no exact number because clock speed will vary from system to system. Getting to 3200+ speeds shouldn't be a prblem, however. Sub-zero cooling with air is easily done....just move to antarctica.

*i claim this area, freeze yr balls off islan!!*

the pelt woudl come in later, just as an option to have.

why the new psu? i use two, one for my mobo, and devices and soem fans, and of for the lightign(4-6 uv cathodes and 2 cathode fans plus some more fans) i wasnt thinging leik a 280 watt pelt, just inbetween 80 and 280
