Default EXTREME idea

Seeing that it's getting cold and near winter time and I am poor l33t h4xz0r, I'd like to take advantage of that nice freezing air outside.

Already, I know, some of you think I am retarded just by the way this post started off but, I've seen this mod done before and I'd like to try it out.

I've got a fan "tunnel" that goes directly from my cpu fan, to the outside of my case, so the cpu fan 'only' gets the nice cold air from 'outside' the case. I'd like to attach some of that flexable tubing from ace or something (the kind you find on the end of dryers to vent out the hot air) and run it to my window, and then seal the other end on the top of the CPU fan tunnel on my case so I can suck in that freezing air.

Yes, I know it sounds stupid but that's why I'm here, for some advice.

My main questions are:

A. is this just too retarded to try?

B. I have a feeling condensation is going to be a BIG problem because of the major temp difference between the inside of the case and outside, is there a way to resolve this?

thanks for any help : ) and if I get it to work I'll post some pics

I vote for "too retarded to try."

Just seems like alot of effort for minimal gain.

because of the condensation issue? Or becuase you think that it wont produce much of a CPU temp difference. I've been thinking that the fan woulnd't be strong enough to pull the air in at a fast enough rate.....

A Because of the condensation and youll prob lower the room temp as well so youll use a lot of money heating the room.

But I can follow you in your idea.

I did it last winter. Worked fine. The only thing is to keep the end of your tube at least 6 to 12 inches away from your intake, this will keep your condensation down.

Cool, yeah the fan 'tunnel' is about 10 inches long from the top of my case window to the top of the fan.

Did it help a lot with your cpu temp?

Thanks for the advice, I'll give it a shot!

eheh dryer tube = not aerodynamic, try to find some 120mm pvc, i did, back in college, even painted the pvc black, ran it straight out a hole i made in the window, behind my case and beside it to the left, one going in one going out, and i had further extensions to make sure they dont suck themselves LoL, and used a volcano 7+, condensation? plenty, but i proofed my board using this http://www.overclockers.com/tips1029/
here i drew up some ****ty pics in paint
