does the seltz L30 NEED this nylon thing?

im getting fed up with the impeller of my L30 with the nylon ring falling off the magnet. i did give hydor UK a email, they might be sending one over, but just wondering, does the impeller NEED the nylon ring there to work? or can i just take it off once and for all? heres a picture:

ive tried to super glue it many times, but after about 3 weeks it would just fall off again.

I see it too. I believe you need the nylon washer on there. I've got a Hydor L35 that I can't get working it spins and everything but doesn't move any water. Any idea on what's wrong with it?

Otherwise I'll just get rid of it and get a new pump.

CommanderZero The ring is required, it hold the magnet in place, it will wobble a little without it, I've taken my L35 apart a few time for cleaning, but mine never fell off. Call Hydor, they have lifetime warranty's.

Hydor USA will replace any pump for free, as long as you send them the old one.

He mentioned once, that the only pumps they replace are for computer watercooling loops.

The pumps like being submerged much better than in a loop too.

My L35 had issues once the power cord hole was leaking fluid, called them up, he said send it in, took my name down, and sent me a new one.

Could you post up a # for me to call them?

A google search brought up many companies but none that had to do with water pumps. BTW does it matter if you don't have the original box? I just have the pump and that's it.

I didnt even buy it from hydor or a retail shop, i got half the pump and a few parts, and they took that....
