Default would this affect the temps?

alright, i have a asetek waterblock here, but i cant seem to find a socket 775 top for it. so im going to make my own. thing is, i can't seem to get the 3rd hole working, how it harrows into a slit. so i can wondering, how much would it affect the performance of the block if i did what in this picture:

this is how it is right now:

also note that im not using the 3/8 barbs, ive changed them and will tap the top to use 1/2 barbs. im using a hydor l30 pump. its gonna be running with my chipset block and a triple rad.

It would work much better with the flow coming from the sides across the fins,as I indicated in the thumbnail.

oh, well the picture isnt really how i wanted it to be. the water will be coming in from the top, not the sides. the arrows going down just show how its going in and out. its not really coming from the side of the block like that. the main idea is that the water is going to go across the waterblock, instead of hitting the middle and spreading the water out to the sides.
