| Danger Den :: Water Cooling Kits :: Configured Kits and Specials :: Danger Den Power Kit Was thinking of getting that for overclocking an E6600 C2D on an EVGA 680i in a Lian Li PC-60 case with a hot-ass 8800GTX present. Right now with a case temp of 25c ambient, and using a Scythe Ninja and a 120mm fan on the CPU, I'm getting about 65c full load @ 3.4ghz with this E6600. I want to be getting 3.6ghz @ about 55c with 1.5v hopefully. Will that kit get me there with good coolant? If not, what kit should I get for $200 or under? Only want to cool the CPU, nothing else. Thanks ahead. | ||

| I've had some people tell me getting this kit is a bad idea, some tell me it's fine so long as I'm not looking for the best of the best. After some debating my friend talked me out of "wasting my money on a cheap Danger Den kit" and is willing to GIVE me his Thermochill PA 120.2, his old res, and the tubing, telling me I should concentrate my money on these: http://www.dtekcustoms.com http://www.performance-pcs.com ...as he doesn't want me wasting my money and crap. I fully trust the guy's advice but a few second opinions wouldn't hurt in making me feel more comfortable. Last edited by Mr. Fiddles; 19-July-07 at 05:12 AM. | ||

| While your friend is definately hooking you up with some solid advice and some solid gear, hes full o' sh!t if he says DD is crap. Ive been running DD since the Maze 3 and Ive never had any problems with performance. Im not saying that DD is the best watercooling gear out there but its definately not shabby stuff. The rad hes givin you is awesome. The new Thermochill rads get the job done and are extremely well built, Im running the PA120.3 right now and its by far the best ive used. Ive never used D-tek so i cant comment on there performance but ive used swiftech before and ive used this block and it worked well. Swiftech Apogee GT Extreme Performance Universal CPU Waterblock - FrozenCPU.com Right now my setup has the TDX from DD on it and has had it on for over a year now and with that block and my rad plus two waterblocks my cpu doesnt get about ambient by too much maybe 2-5 degrees depending on what im doing. Somethings wrong if i buck over 30. | ||

He didn't really say they were bad, just that they're no longer as good as they were, and there is superior equipment available for your money. Yeah the rad is a beast. Gonna be a bitch to fit in this PC-60. Any info/opinions on the pump? Not only the pump, but the site I found it on too, as it's the only site that seems to stock it. Reliable site?

| More sites stock it, including dangerden, they just don't have the crappy plexi modified top. On other sites it is the DDC-12V or MCP 355. Go with the stock version....you'll save about 40 bucks and it's safer. As for the block I'd either go with the one your friend recommended or the Apogee GTX. | ||

not to jack the thread or anything but isn't the pump you advised 3/8 fitting and the CPU waterblock 1/2 fitting, doesn't one's watercooling setup have to have the same size fittings and tubbing.

Good point. I'll need 1/2" pump for 1/2" tubing/CPU block fittings. Anyone care to link me to the same pump with 1/2"? If I can get the pump and the Fuzion block from the same site, that'd be excellent. I'm from England so I'm not up to scratch on what US sites are best. However, as a friend will be ordering this stuff and sending it over to me, I need American sites. If there is indeed a cheaper pump of identicle build quality and power for less than $120 then I'll get it....

You can just use a couple 3/8" x 1/2" reducers....or something like this. Although my recommendation is to just run 3/8" tubing. With the amount of head that pump supplies there won't be any noticeable performance hit and routing will be much easier.

DTC- D5 Vario 12v Pump - DTC-D5 Was thinking I'd settle with this pump. Good choice? Also, is it 1/2"? It doesn't say anywhere...

That'll work fine, and yes, it has 1/2" OD fittings.

So, my set-up will be: DTC D5 Vario Pump 12v D-Tek Fuzion CPU Block Thermochill PA 120.2 D-Tek Floppy Bay Resevoir 8ft of ClearFlex High Grade 1/2" Tubing Nothing wrong with anything there before I order?
