| LN-2 on the way to be filled in the back seat of Necro's Tuna Boat....had to shove the seat all the way forward, I had leg cramps when we got back. Getting the Go-Go Juice, 22 litres was 40$ This is a video I took with my phone while it was being filled, because the Dewar was "hot" it vaporized the first shot for a few minutes. | Chrome brought us some 150GB Raptors for some PCMARK 05 Raid O action ![]() We had to ditch the Stryker Extreme massive heatpipe setup, it was just gonna be in the way of the insulation, so we used some Ram sinks on the Mosfets, a DFI 939 NB cooler, and a Matrox AGP cooler for the southbridge Last edited by $SOLID$ Necro; 21-July-07 at 11:20 PM. | ||

| I'd say the primary reason for the smaller heatsink was either clearance issues.. or maybe its all they had? either way it is true that motherboard is known for a uber hot NB.. hell my P5N32-E-Sli board (which is the same exact board) when I first built it and didnt have any active cooling on the NB coolers it got up to I think it was almost 200F... might wanna keep an eye on it.. could be a weak link... | ||

| Ranger: The heatpipes may be going back in place at a later date if I have to RMA or decide to sell it, Sorry bro, wish I had a spare for ya ![]() It realy wasn't making great contact on the Mosfets anyways..it had some huge thermal pad on it that was only touching the outer ones anyways. You would probably be better off doing what we did...BGA ram sinks with some Creamique paste under them, and a dab of super glue in 2 corners (Kitty corner) and then just have a good fan blowing over them.
I think it will be just fine for now...and when running LN-2, the temps spilling over will be MORE than enough to keep her cool ![]()
Clearance issues is correct, and yeah... that's kinda all we had to work with handy, but it should be plenty adequate for our situation...this is not daily driving in a hot case ![]() Last edited by $SOLID$ Necro; 21-July-07 at 11:23 PM. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
