1- Is there any differences from the 3 cards at stock speed?

2- what about overclocking?

3- i know years ago , Power Colors add slower memory's on the graphic card to give a better price range but what about today is it the same thing?
because all 3 of them have DDR3 & same speed on the core & memory's

Thx!

Hi guys,

I'm pretty sure that this is a motherboard issue, which is too bad for me, because I love this board. The board is a GIGABYTE GA-EP45T-UD3P, and I'm running G-SKILL 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Dual Channel Ram, and my proccessor is a Core Duo E8400 Wolfdale.

I've got the BIOS settings for the board "use safest settings" instead of maxing everything out, and I've never overclocked anything. It's straight up.

Problem is, sometimes I'll be on the pc and everything on the screen freezes, and that's it. No keyboard function, no mouse, no nothing. And, if I'm listening to music, the music "skips" much like a music cd that skips, but it does it about 20 X's faster, producing a really nasty sound. I'd say on average it freezes anywhere from once a week to 3 x's a week, and I don't think it has anything to do with the load, as I'm rarely taxing this pc. Word, an SNES emulator, musc, not much else.

Also, I've tried multiple HDD's all SATA, but the problem persists, even after a fresh reformat.

I guess my question is, I really like this mobo, and they don't make it anymore. Is it possible that the RAM is faulty, or a BIOS error? I've never flashed the BIOS, and the board is a Rev 1.0. I can flash it, but I'd like to hear what you guys my have to say first.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Its been a while since i have written any guides. With the release of windows 7 in two days i figured i better get a tweak guide up!

1. Turn On "Best Performance"

Start >> Control Panel >> System and Security >> System >> Advanced system >> Settings (button) and then choose "adjust for best performance"

This will kill all the visual effects, but things will run faster.

2. Turn Of User Access Control (UAC)

Start >> Control Panel >> User Accounts and Family Safety >> User Accounts >> Change User Account Control setting >> Set slider to Never Notify

although not as annoying as vista, it still prompts you.

3. Turn off System Restore.

Start >> Control Panel >> System and Security >> System >> System Protection >> Configure (button) >> Turn off System Protection.

Some people will want this option, but this does take resources.

4. Turn Off un-needed Services.

Windows 7 Service Configurations by Black Viper

Above is an awesome site dedicated to tweaking windows services.

5. Disable IPv6

Start >> type Regedit then go to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\TCPIP6\Parameters

Create a new dword value (32bit) called: DisabledComponents

For the value put in: ff

What this will do is disable Ipv6, which for some people will cause programs not to work.

6. Turn off Un-needed programs at statup

Start >> type Msconfig >> Startup (tab)

and then deselect any programs you dont need to start with windows.

7. Speed up Internet Explorer 8

Start >> type Regedit then go to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Internet Settings
Create a new dword value (32bit) called: MaxConnectionsPerServer
For the value put in: a

Create a new dword value (32bit) called: MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server
For the value put in: a

This will allow more connections at a time and will speed up browsing

We generally don't report on individual bugs or security issues in operating systems, but a pretty serious bug has reared its ugly head in Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. If you had a guest account enabled prior to installing Snow Leopard, then you are at risk of losing all your data.

The bug is not 100% reproducible, but the number of posts on Apple's support forums is rising (1, 2, 3, 4, 5). It is said that if you had your guest account enabled prior to installing Snow Leopard, then it could be that after you login as a guest user after installing Snow Leopard, the data in your regular account will be gone. As in, deleted.
It is speculated that the actual bug is that after logging in to the Leopard-created guest account while running Snow Leopard, your regular account gets treated like a guest account - as in, all data deleted after log out, settings returned to default, and so on.

"When I logged into my MacBook Pro this morning, it was as if I had logged into my Guest Account and not my standard user profile," user parshallnet said, "No icons on the desktop, the desktop wallpaper was the default 'space' photo and not the one I had assigned, no documents in the docs folder, apps behaved as if I'd never opened them before."

Reports of this serious bug first started appearing right after Snow Leopard shipped, but the problem has yet to be resolved. A temporary precaution is to disable the guest account, or to create a regular account and restrict it using parental controls. For users who encountered the bug and have lost all their data - unless you have a backup, you're pretty much done for. Your data will be gone.
Introducing the Google Chrome OS

7/07/2009 09:37:00 PM
It's been an exciting nine months since we launched the Google Chrome browser. Already, over 30 million people use it regularly. We designed Google Chrome for people who live on the web — searching for information, checking email, catching up on the news, shopping or just staying in touch with friends. However, the operating systems that browsers run on were designed in an era where there was no web. So today, we're announcing a new project that's a natural extension of Google Chrome — the Google Chrome Operating System. It's our attempt to re-think what operating systems should be.

Google Chrome OS is an open source, lightweight operating system that will initially be targeted at netbooks. Later this year we will open-source its code, and netbooks running Google Chrome OS will be available for consumers in the second half of 2010. Because we're already talking to partners about the project, and we'll soon be working with the open source community, we wanted to share our vision now so everyone understands what we are trying to achieve.

Speed, simplicity and security are the key aspects of Google Chrome OS. We're designing the OS to be fast and lightweight, to start up and get you onto the web in a few seconds. The user interface is minimal to stay out of your way, and most of the user experience takes place on the web. And as we did for the Google Chrome browser, we are going back to the basics and completely redesigning the underlying security architecture of the OS so that users don't have to deal with viruses, malware and security updates. It should just work.

Google Chrome OS will run on both x86 as well as ARM chips and we are working with multiple OEMs to bring a number of netbooks to market next year. The software architecture is simple — Google Chrome running within a new windowing system on top of a Linux kernel. For application developers, the web is the platform. All web-based applications will automatically work and new applications can be written using your favorite web technologies. And of course, these apps will run not only on Google Chrome OS, but on any standards-based browser on Windows, Mac and Linux thereby giving developers the largest user base of any platform.

Google Chrome OS is a new project, separate from Android. Android was designed from the beginning to work across a variety of devices from phones to set-top boxes to netbooks. Google Chrome OS is being created for people who spend most of their time on the web, and is being designed to power computers ranging from small netbooks to full-size desktop systems. While there are areas where Google Chrome OS and Android overlap, we believe choice will drive innovation for the benefit of everyone, including Google.

We hear a lot from our users and their message is clear — computers need to get better. People want to get to their email instantly, without wasting time waiting for their computers to boot and browsers to start up. They want their computers to always run as fast as when they first bought them. They want their data to be accessible to them wherever they are and not have to worry about losing their computer or forgetting to back up files. Even more importantly, they don't want to spend hours configuring their computers to work with every new piece of hardware, or have to worry about constant software updates. And any time our users have a better computing experience, Google benefits as well by having happier users who are more likely to spend time on the Internet.

We have a lot of work to do, and we're definitely going to need a lot of help from the open source community to accomplish this vision. We're excited for what's to come and we hope you are too. Stay tuned for more updates in the fall and have a great summer.
