Default LCD refresh rate?

Hey guys.

I got a Viewsonic VA1930wm LCD for christmas.

And I'm wondering about its refresh rate. My freind has lower model Viewsonic widescreen LCD, and he has his refresh rates set at 75.

Mine is set to 60, with no option to go any higher. Viewsonics website states that this monitor can hit 85, and 75 (one of those is horizontal and the other vertical.)

Is there something I'm missing?

On a digital connection the refresh is generally locked at 60. Analog connections usually go a bit higher. It's nothing to worry about, the refresh rate isn't a big thing with LCD's like it was with CRT's.

LCDs dont update the entire image (ie every pixel) every scan like CRTs do, so as AntiM said, you don't need to worry about it.

Maybe you're experiencing "ghosting". Have you compared the response times on the two monitors. Lower is better obviously...

Or, you have a ****ty mouse
