Default component adapter?

i have this monitor. planing to get this cable. im trying to use my dvd player on my monitor. will this work?
and if not, will this work? thanks.

does your dvd player have component out? if so then get the compenent to vga.. if not then get the svideo\audio to vga. i guess it should work but that monitor doesn't have any aux input? i find that strange

there isnt really much info given about what the monitor supports natively. i'd say the best thing to do is get a HD upscaling DVD player with HDMI or DVI out and use that through the DVI input on the monitor if it will do 720 or 1080 scaling. they are around $80 now. or even better, a full blown HTPC

the x2vga box ( Neoya X2VGA 2 High Definition VGA Transcoder ) has gotten some mixed results from the DIY projector crowd. but that HP monitor has a high native res, so anyhting not native HD might look ugly.
