| Apex Advanced Techie | So I got my brand new Acer Aspire 5672 in the mail today, plugged it in, turned it out...and got a blank white screen. I can adjust the brightness, but it doesn't help. I can hear music playing, probably for some Acer program that opens on startup. I plugged an extra monitor I had laying around into the laptop, and the display worked fine on that, I could see the WinXp screen, everything loaded fine, etc. So the problem must be with the display on the laptop...should I try to fix this myself, or just RMA it to Newegg? From what I've read, it sounds like it could just be a loose cord. Any ideas? Thanks. | |

| Apex Advanced Techie | Yeah when I bought the laptop from Newegg, I also got the extended warranty plan...so I don't want to go prying open the computer, even when it's probably just a loose cable from the computer to the LCD. | |

| When I got my New Aspire.. a week later the lcd died. I called customer support and they sent a fedex truck to my house the next day. Fedex guy packed it and took it. A week later it came back with a new lcd. Not a penny out of my pocket. Here's the number I got when I called newegg for the warranty. 800-816-2237 | ||

| Yes, definately rma the laptop.......... To answer your question..... Yes, there's definately an issue if the lcd screen is white. The only option is replacing the lcd. Send it back and get another one. No sense cracking it open and voiding your warranty on a brand new unit. TC rockin'male ![]() | ||

The guy on the phone just said.. "fedex will be coming tomorrow to pick it up, you don't have to pay anything". you should call them and tell them another acer customer told you they sent a fedex truck for free. Be nice too. ![]() | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
