| I'd go the Philips/Samsung/LG route... whilst those aren't perfectly "flat" like Trinitron based CRT's they lack the "lines" usually found in a Trinitron 'mask ..plus they often have much harder, sturdier coatings than the Trinitrons... (I've got this Iiyama 17" flat CRT.... which is connected to my server now because it's coating had been damaged..)... great thing is that you can buy these CRT's in "short neck" models which take up a lot less room! 3 good reasons, imho.... and whilst they consume more power & use more space, they can cope with much more resolutions natively, don't suffer from "dead pixels"... most of them can be "color calibrated"... "ghosting" does not apply... I've got both a V7 and an LG 19" CRT which I 'cherish... TDR | ||

| That looks amazingly similar to what happened to one of my buddy's tvs when he left a 12" sub (out of its case) sitting on it while we went on a trip... came back and it had those marks around the corners (plus a nice inverted rainbow in the middle). | ||
