Default lcd monitor may be dead?

thought i would try here before i try for RMA.
i have a 17inch CMV LCD monitor. model CT-720D.and i get nothing on it anymore.even if the pc is turned off and the monitor is still powered up all i get is the power light flashing and the monitor making a clicking noise in time with the flashing powerlight.
the monitor went black as i was about to post 3dmark05 results on the futuremark site.i turned the monitor off and left it till the next day and still nothing.apart from the flashing light and clicking noise.
i bought this lcd from a friend and am not sure if there is still any warranty left on it.
any ideas guys?
thanks in advance

My advice is to try the warranty, check if your friend had to register his name against it (probably not) and when you make the call to the manufacturer don't mention any of your concerns about the warranty expiration.

Most LCD vendors (especially in NZ) are pretty picky when it comes to RMA's - ask your friend who he got it off and the date - you'll need as much info as you can get.

I don't know who do CMV over here (I'm in procurement and mainly deal with Philips, Samsung, Dell & HP kit) otherwise I'd probably be able to help you out more

Just remember - the NZ consumer guarantees act covers all equipment purchased in NZ, despite manufacturer's specific warranty requirements.

Good luck dude

Totaly on the same page as the rest of these guys but have you tried it another video card/rig.. sometimes a fresh signal from another card will snap a monitor out of it... but i have a feeling that you are going to have to RMA
